Happy 102nd birthday to Agnes Keleti, the world’s oldest living Olympic champion and a true symbol of resilience.
Born in Hungary in 1921, Agnes survived the horrors of World War II by living under a false identity as a maid. While many of her family members were among the 550,000 Hungarian Jews killed in the Holocaust, Agnes endured—and after the war, she returned to the sport she loved.
Against all odds, she competed in the Olympics at ages 31 and 35, winning ten medals in gymnastics, including five golds at the 1952 Helsinki and 1956 Melbourne Games. Her performances weren’t just athletic feats—they were triumphs of spirit.
Today, Agnes Keleti is 102 years old. When asked about the past, she doesn’t dwell on sorrow. Instead, she smiles and says: “Let’s talk about the future. That’s what should be beautiful.”
A life like hers reminds us all—age is just a number, and courage can carry us through anything.
