Australia's First Prime Minister on Immigration

Perhaps this is one email that needs to be forwarded until every Australian with a computer receives it.
The year is 1907, over one hundred years ago…
Sir Edmund Barton’s ideas on Immigrants and being an Australian in 1907.
‘In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an Australian and assimilates
himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such
man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person’s becoming in every facet an Australian,
and nothing but an Australian. There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an Australian, but something
else also, isn’t an Australian at all. We have room for but one flag, the Australian flag. We have room for but one language here,
and that is the English language… and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the Australian people.’
Edmund Barton
1907
Every Australian citizen needs to read this! KEEP THIS MOVING PLEASE!!!!
I can see a few things to argue with Sir Edmund, the loyalty to truth and integrity and one’s fellow man and environment being above loyalty to the artificial boundaries imposed by country borders and so on. But he makes the point, and it is a good one, that a man cannot serve two masters. But that may have been said before. 🙂

Center For Food Safety

Last week, CFS and Pacific Northwest wheat farmers launched a class action lawsuit against Monsanto for the escape of Monsanto’s illegal GE wheat in Oregon.

What We Are Not Getting In Our Food

People sometimes ask why I take vitamin and mineral supplements as well as eating a great diet. Look at this:

A study by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) showing the loss of vitamins and minerals in fruits and vegetables since 1975.

  • Apples: Vitamin A is down 41%
  • Sweet peppers: Vitamin C is down 31%
  • Watercress: Iron is down 88%
  • Broccoli: Calcium and vitamin A are down 50%
  • Cauliflower: Vitamin C is down 45%; vitamin B1 is down 48%; and vitamin B2 is down 47%
  • Collards greens: Magnesium is down 85%

You read that right, an apple in 1975 is nearly twice as nutritious as one grown today. This is not good.

Pure Norwegian Cod Liver Oil

Research done by the Price-Pottenger Nutrition Foundation of San Diego, California and others have shown a renewed interest in Cod Liver Oil. From the first chapter of Weston Price, D.D.S.’s book, “Nutrition and Physical Degeneration” ‘X-FACTOR,” or Animal Protein Factor (A.P.F.), which Is found in butter from cows fed on green grass, but with very little of It found in butter from cows on dry rations. This APF is necessary to the proper growth and well being of many types of animals. This same A.P.F factor was supposed to be in many oils.
The Price-Pottenger Nutrition Foundation searched everywhere for something that contains this factor. They claim to have tried all types of oils but in only one product did they find the necessary evidence of a rich X-Factor and that was Cod Liver Oil. After testing the varieties of Cod liver Oil available on the market, only one gave the beautiful royal purple color that proved the presence of A.P.F. (X-Factor) upon testing.
This Cod Liver Oil is the crudest form on the market, purposely less refined so as to retain the unsaturated fatty acids: linoleic, linolenic and arachidonic. The omega-3 fatty acid EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid), found in cold water fish and marine mammals, nutritionally supports the heart and cardiovascular function. One of the primary mechanisms responsible for this is benefit is EPA’s ability to naturally thin blood and discourage excess blood clotting. Additionally EPA nutritionally supports the liver in regulating proper LDL and HDL levels (low and high density lipoproteins). EPA has anti-inflammatory properties that have positive effects on the immune system.
Cod liver Oil is an effective source of Vitamin A and Vitamin D. Vitamin A is critical to healthy tissues and immunity. Vitamin D helps the body to utilize calcium and phosphorus in building bone structure and healthy teeth.

Saturated Fat Makes Brain Vulnerable to Alzheimer's: Study

(A friend sent me this. I have not read it yet but I would caution that not all saturated fats are equal and unless they distinguish between hydrogenated and non-hydrogenated oils they could be missing the mark by a country mile.)
The article is a synopsis: The sample is small but it looks like a pretty good study and it was published in an edited journal.
