Can’t You See War On The Horizon? — Paul Craig Roberts

According to news reports in the British press, Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed Russia’s industries to prepare themselves to be able to make a quick switch to war production.
Clearly, the Russian government would not make such an announcement unless it was convinced that the prospect of war with the West was real. For some time I have emphasized in my columns that the consequence of years of hostile actions taken by Washington and its European vassals against Russia was leading to war.
It is easy to understand that the massive US military/security complex needs a convincing enemy in order to justify its enormous budget, that the crazed neoconservatives put their fantasy ideology of US world hegemony above the life of the planet, and that Hillary and the Democratic National Committee will do anything to overturn Trump’s presidential victory. However, it is difficult to understand why the European political leaders are willing to put their countries at risk for Washington’s benefit.
Yet, they do. For example, on November 13 UK PM Theresa May said that Russia was a threat to international security and was interfering in European elections and hacking European governments. There is no more evidence for these claims than there is for “Russiagate.” Yet the allegations continue and multiply. Now the European Union is organizing former provinces of the Soviet Union—Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan—into an “Eastern Partnership” with the European Union.
In other words, the West is openly organizing former provinces of Moscow against Russia, declared by Prime Minister May to be a “hostile state.” Russia knows that there is no basis for the allegations against Russia and regards them as identical to the false allegations against Saddam Hussein, Gaddafi, and Assad in order to justify military attacks on Iraq, Libya, and Syria. Having convinced Russia that she is being set up for attack, Russia is preparing for war.
Think about this for a moment. The world is being driven to Armageddon simply because a greedy and corrupt US military/security complex needs an enemy to justify its huge budget, because Hillary and the DNC cannot accept a political defeat, and because the neoconservatives have an ideology of American Supremacy. What’s the difference between the detested White Supremacy and the American Supremacy that President Obama himself endorsed? Why is white supremacy terrible and American supremacy God’s gift to the “exceptional” and “indispensable” country?
The Russian government has openly shared its concern that Russia is being set up for military attack. As I, if not CNN, the New York Times, and the Washington Post, have reported, the deputy commander of the Russian military’s Operation Command stated publicly the concern that Washington is preparing a surprise nuclear attack against Russia. President Putin recently called attention to Washington’s collection of Russian DNA for a US Air Force weapons lab, which implies development of a Russian-specific bio-weapon. On many occasions Russia has called attention to US and NATO bases on its borders despite previous assurances from US administrations that no such thing would ever happen.
We have to ask ourselves why it is not the top item of public and political discussion that Washington has convinced Russia, a premier nuclear and military power, that Russia is going to be attacked. Instead, we hear of football players who kneel for the national anthem, fake news about Russiagate, a Las Vegas shooting, and so on.
We also must ask ourselves how much longer Washington is going to permit any of us via the Internet to report the real news instead of the fake news that Washington uses to control explanations. The effort by the Federal Communications Commission chairman to destroy net neutrality and other efforts underway to discredit factual news as Russian propaganda indicate that Washington has concluded that in order to war on Russia Washington must also war on truth. and
Washington will not survive its war, and neither will the American and European people.

Good Grief NO! NOT MORE Fracking!

Dear Tom,
Did you know that since 2010, NSW has increased its coal production by more than the controversial Adani mine in Central Queensland would produce? Digging all that coal has come at the expense of rural villages, rivers, farmland and Sydney’s own drinking water catchment.
We can’t allow the damage to continue. Today, we launch a campaign to choose a new future for New South Wales. There’s a state election coming in March 2019 and this is our time to choose clean energy, clean air and clean water. Can you help?
We’ve launched a report this morning showing that ten new and expanding coal mines in New South Wales will together produce more coal, take up more land and use more water than Adani’s controversial Queensland mine.
As well as expanding coal mining, New South Wales is considering letting Santos drill 850 coal seam gas wells through a water recharge aquifer of the Great Artesian Basin. It will turn the beautiful Pilliga forest into an industrial gasfield.
We think it’s #Time2Choose clean water, clean air and clean energy. But it’s going to take you and your networks to make it happen.
Around the state, people are voting in the People’s Referendum on Coal and Gas. In March, we will rally in the centre of Sydney, calling on all our politicians to choose a better future for our state.
Will you join the campaign and be part of making this historic choice for New South Wales?
We don’t need to let coal seam gas ruin the Pilliga. We don’t need ten new coal mines rivalling Adani’s coal mine in scale and impact.
We can choose a new approach, but we’ve got to do it together.
Are you in?
Thanks for everything,
P.S. New South Wales is at a crossroads. We have abundant clean water, rich soils and warm communities, but it’s all at risk with the expansion of damaging coal and gas mining. Let’s turn it around.
Lock the Gate Alliance

Tell Parliament today: don’t let APRA steal our savings, break up the banks instead

If you haven’t yet done so, write to the Senate Economics Legislation Committee today to demand they dump the APRA crisis management “bail-in” bill, and legislate a Glass-Steagall break-up of the Too-Big-To-Fail banks instead.
Ordinarily a committee like this would only receive a dozen or so submissions, from the likes of banking associations, APRA itself and other regulators. The issues would receive little scrutiny, the bill would be rubber-stamped, and the public would only know about it when they react in shock to losing their savings and are told it is legal—which has been the repeated experience of bail-in in Europe.
Every letter the committee receives from everyday Australians will force the Senators to realise this bill is dangerous, with far-reaching consequences that they’d better examine in detail before they vote on it. In this way Parliament can be forced to weigh up the disastrous bail-in approach to financial stability, versus the successful Glass-Steagall approach.
Bail-in is a complicated fraud. It’s intended to preserve the current system of casino banking, which preys on customers to feed the US$1.2 quadrillion (US$1,200 trillion) global derivatives bubble. Australia’s banks account for $36 trillion of this financial gambling. Bail-in allows the banks to continue the reckless and criminal practices that caused the 2008 crisis, and puts the risk for their losses on to their customers—you—who will have their savings bailed in!
The latest from Europe is that the authorities are proposing to adjust their bail-in law, to effectively scrap the €100,000 deposit guarantee. Remember that, when a politician reassures you that Australia’s $250,000 deposit guarantee will protect you. If they are going to allow banks to continue to gamble trillions of dollars, there will never be enough money to cover their losses, and APRA, which is closely connected to the European banking authorities, will look for ways around the deposit guarantee.
By contrast, a Glass-Steagall separation of deposit-taking banks from all other financial services, and all forms of speculation, is straightforward and secure. It’s the most successful banking regulation in history, having protected America’s banking system from any systemic crises for 66 years, 1933-1999. It ensures financial stability in the obvious way—by stopping banks from engaging in the speculative practices that cause instability! Glass-Steagall makes perfect sense to everybody … except bankers, who are desperate to keep gambling with deposits, and their political and media stooges, who are sell-outs.
While many G20 countries already have bail-in, Australia doesn’t, thanks to the CEC’s ongoing mobilisation since 2013. We can stop this bill, but it will require an all-in effort, starting with you writing to the committee today.
Write to the committee today
The deadline for submissions to the Senate committee is Monday 18 December, which will be upon us very quickly, so write a letter today. There are three ways to write to the Senate committee.
The committee staff have asked the CEC to direct people to use the Senate’s on-line submission process, which is at this link:
If you are computer literate and feel confident to make a submission this way, go ahead.
BUT, as some people may find that process complicated, the CEC recommends writing an actual physical letter, and mailing it to the committee. It will have a big impact on Senators that someone has gone to the effort to write and mail a latter.
The address of the committee is:
Senate Standing Committees on Economics
PO Box 6100
Parliament House
Canberra ACT 2600
The third way is to email a letter to the committee, but please ensure that you have properly identified yourself with a name and address, so they know it is genuine. If you wish your letter to be private, and only read by the Senators, write “Confidential” at the top of the email (this also applies to physical letters). Email your letter to:
REMEMBER: It doesn’t matter how long or how short your letter, or how you write it. Just say what you think about APRA getting bail-in powers, and the Glass-Steagall alternative.
Write today, and notify the CEC that you have done so, by email at, or by calling our toll-free number 1800 636 432, so we can gauge how many letters are being sent.

We pensioned off old Blue the dog
When old age got him down.
And we sent him in for company
To old Grandma in the town.
But while Granny was elated,
Blue still craved the great outdoors.
And he’d roam the town exploring
While old Granny did her chores.
So it was this Sunday morning
Blue was fossicking about
Through the paddocks near the township
On his normal daily scout.
When a canine gourmet odour
Overpowered his sense of smell.
Though his eyesight had diminished
His old sniffer still worked well.
And the source of his excitement
Was reposed down by the creek.
Where a sheep had met his maker
For the best part of a week.
For its woolly corpse was spreading
And the air was far from fresh
From this rancid flyblown carcass
With its seething greenish flesh.
It was a dog’s idea of heaven
And old Blue, he rubbed and rolled
Till he ponged just like the sheep did
And with ecstasy extolled.
Then an idea formed within him
As he gave a gentle tug,
And he found the carcass followed
Like a matted lumpy rug.
He would take it home for later,
It should last a week or two-
If he stored it in his kennel
He could keep his prize from view.
So he gripped the carcass firmly,
Proudly into town he went.
But his load proved fairly heavy
And Blue’s energy soon spent.
And the only shade on offer
Was this building with a bell.
And he dragged his prize towards it
With its flies and feral smell.
Then the dog and the sheep both rested
In the front porch of the church.
And old Blue looked up the gangway
At the parson on his perch.
He was revving up the faithful
To repent to save their worth
And said Satan was the culprit
For all rotten things on earth.
As he roared of fire and brimstone
And redemption for the throng,
Up the aisle came Satan’s presence
In this God forsaken pong.
And they all cried “Hallelujah”
And they fell as one to pray.
But by now old Blue had rested
And he hadn’t time to stay.
He proceeded up the roadway
With the woolly corpse in tow.
With a shortcut through the nursing home
The quickest way to go.
Where the matron, in a panic
Counted heads in mortal fright.
With a smell like that they’d surely lost
A patient through the night.
And the members at the bowls club
Lowered all their flags half mast.
offed their hats and stood in silence
For the funeral going past.
But Blue lugged his prize on homewards
Travelling past the bowling club.
Till he took a breather under
The verandah of the pub.
There old Boozing Bill was resting
Sleeping off the night before.
To await the Sunday session
When they opened up the door.
When a stench awoke his slumber
Which was highly on the nose.
And he thought his pickled body
Had begun to decompose.
And he missed the Sunday session
When he ran home to his wife.
To proclaim the shock announcement
He was off the booze for life.
Meanwhile Blue could see Gran’s gateway
At the far end of the street.
So he started up the pavement
With his ripe and tasty treat.
But there was movement in the back streets
As the town dogs sniffed in deep.
They broke chains and climbed high fences
For a piece of Blue’s dead sheep.
And Blue felt the road vibrating
From the stamp of canine feet,
As this pack of thirty mongrels
Came advancing down the street.
But he wasn’t into sharing,
So he sought a quick escape
And he spied a nearby building
With a door that stood agape.
Through this door he sought asylum
But his presence caused a shriek,
For he’d chosen the local deli
That was run by Nick the Greek.
And Blue shot beneath a table
Where the sheep and he could hide.
But the dog pack was relentless
And they followed him inside.
Now the table Blue had chosen
Was a double-booked mistake.
With a law enforcement sergeant
Slipping coffee on his break.
And the sergeant sat bolt upright
With a dog between his feet.
And his eyes began to water
rom this dead decaying meat.
Then the sarge leapt up in horror
But in haste he slipped and fell
Falling down amongst Blue’s mutton
With it’s all embracing smell.
And he lay, somewhat bewildered
In the gore, flat on his back,
When the mongrel pack descended
In a frenzied dog attack.
With first thought self-preservation
From the rows of teeth he faced,
The sarge fumbled for his pistol
In its holster at his waist.
There were muffled bangs and yelping
As the random shots rang out.
And a whine of bouncing bullets
Off the brickwork all about.
As he blasted in a panic
From beneath the blood and gore
A front window and the drink fridge
Were both added to the score.
And the cappaccino maker
Copped a mortal wound and died.
Hissing steam, it levitated,
Falling frothing on its side.
And Nick the Greek, the owner,
Grabbed a shotgun in his fright.
Blasting into the confusion
Of the frantic canine fight.
At short range it wasn’t pretty.
Dogs were pasted on the wall.
There was laminex in splinters,
Clouds of dog hair covered all.
Then the smoke detector whistled
With the gunsmoke in the air,
Which set off the sprinkler’s system
And a siren gave a blare.
And the dogs that still were breathing,
Most dismembered and unwell,
Dragged themselves away in terror
From this pizza shop from Hell.
And the echoes still were ringing
When beneath the dying heap,
There emerged old Blue, still dragging
At the remnants of his sheep.
Its head was gone and sev’ral legs
But it hadn’t lost its smell.
In the armistice that followed
Blue decided not to dwell.
He leapt the fence at Grandma’s
For his feet had sprouted wings –
Pure adrenalin propelled him
Fleeing dogs and guns and things.
Now old Gran had influenza
And had lost her sense of smell.
With Blue’s sheep now in the garden
That was probably just as well.
And she looked out from her front fence
At the town in disarray.
At an ambulance, police cars
And the RSPCA
Then the fire brigade rushed past her,
Flashing lights of rosy hue.
And she hugged the old dog tightly –
He’d protect her, would old Blue.
“You just stay here like a good dog,”
Grandma told him with a frown.
“Cause you’ve no idea the trouble
You can get into in town”.

Body Oxygen Test or CP Test

breath holding woman
The body oxygen test or CP (control pause) test measures body oxygen levels and evaluates minute ventilation or breathing rates using special breathing holding testing. This DIY test has been used by about 200 Soviet and Russian medical doctors and other health professionals. They checked over 250,000 patients with various health problems and ordinary people. Several hundreds of Western Buteyko teachers applied this test on more than 200,000 people.
