Some notes from a presentation given by an holistic oncologist.
A cancerous cell is a cell that has gone into rapid replication.
Anything that gets inside of a cell and damages DNA can cause that cell to go into rapid replication.
The primary caustive agent that damages DNA is not genetics, it is toxins (chemicals) and biotoxins (bacteria, viruses), radiation, EMF exposure.
The body has various defence mechanisms to handle DNA damaged cells that go into rapid replication. These are intrinsic (within the cell) and extrinsic (outside the cell).
Within the cell is a tumour suppressor pathway. In the vast majority of cases, when a cancer cell is detected, tumour suppressor genes within the cell stimulate the apoptonic pathway which destroy the rapidly replicating cell from within.
Extrinsic factors that cause cell death are the immune system and some vitamins, like Vitamin D. Vitamin D stimulates an extrinsic apoptotic pathway to kill cancer cells.
Some cells last your entire life, most live 6 to 18 weeks then split off a new cell and die. Normal programmed cell death is called apoptosis.
Steps to Reduce Toxin Exposure and Cancer Risk
Fastest way into the body for toxins is via injection.
Second fastest way if via breathing. (Test for mold.)
Most common way is via the gut, absorbing them through damaged gut border. One of the main toxins here is xenoestrogens (estrogens made outside the body) that disrupt our own hormones.
There is a lot of truth in starting by healing the gut border to reduce toxin uptake.
Check the blood/brain barrier. Decrease the permeability of that.
