Psychedelics by Karen Hadley

This is a warning for parents and employers. I’ve just spent several hours researching psychedelic drugs and it is now difficult to find anything negative about these drugs. The media and scientific organizations are singing the praises of psychedelics used for mental health, increased productivity, PTSD, etc. The volume of positive news has overwhelmed the negative information about the dangers of these drugs. Do a Google search for “psychedelic benefits” and you’ll find 2.6 million results. The trend is use of small doses of psychedelics to boost creativity and productivity. This is what your kids and your employees are going to hear about on the grapevine. They are not going to hear about the risks and harm done by drugs like LSD, psilocybin, mescaline, PCP, ketamine and others. Going back 50+ years, I’ve used some of these drugs and I can assure you that any “enlightenment” or “improvement” is fraudulent and does not compare in any way with a true increase in awareness or ability. You won’t hear this from the media, however. Two states have already legalized psychedelics, and several cities have, as well. At the conference I just attended, an expert in workplace drug detection predicted that psychedelics will be the next wave in the workplace. All these media articles, all these “scientific” studies are paving the way to further legalization efforts, I am sure. Help me hold the fort! Educate yourself so you can educate your kids! I also suggest that larger companies check with their attorneys about setting strict policies about drug use at work and drug testing for employees.
