RDI Of Nutrients

The Recommended Daily Intake )RDI( of nutrients is based on what would prevent 90% of people suffering a clinical deficiency of that nutrient.
Not 100% of people.
Not what is adequate or optimum for a body.
Not what is appropriate for people trying to remedy a deficiency of that nutrient.
Not what is appropriate for larger sized bodies.
Merely what would prevent 90% of people suffering a clinical deficiency.

So, even keeping to the RDI, you have a better than 10% chance of being deficient in that nutrient. Given that 66% of American are overweight or obese )and larger bodies need more nutrients to sustain them( chances are if you only get the minimum RDI you are almost certain to be deficient!

Bear in mind indigenous cultures often have a nutrient intake 5–7 times the RDI.

Also bear in mind the body has a triage function where if you don’t get enough nutrition the body does not say. ’Heart, skip every third beat, lungs, skip every 4th breath, brain, answer every 5th request for data or decisions.” No, just like you do with your time allocation, it defers those functions most easily put off to a later date. I am told our body makes 1,000,000 cancer cells a day and most days it kills that many. The problem occurs when the making outpaces the killing! If you consistently do not get enough nutrition then those housekeeping functions keep getting deferred until you have a monumental mess, or, the condition in which most people over 50 find themselves where they become dependent on 5 or more medications to eke out a very drug dependent and unpleasant existence.

Of course this suits perfectly the current medical paradigm and Big pHarma are rubbing their hands all the way to the bank and Codex Alimentarius continues to push to restrict the availability we have to supplements, Big Ag continues to grow nutrient deficient crops loaded with toxins, the lobbyists continue to push for legislation that allows the scam on our health and everyone smiles. Except we the people. Oh, but they also have a solution to that too! Drugs that make you feel good regardless of your situation. Starting with coffee and alcohol, progressing to recreational drugs and anti-depressants.

So if the paradigm that has entrapped most people does not appeal to you, how do you achieve optimal nutrition?

Start by eliminating empty and destructive calories from your diet – seed oils, sugar, wheat, processed food, artificial colours, artificial sweeteners, artificial flavours and preservatives. )Jack LaLanne, the famous body builder and health advocate said. “If man made it, don’t eat it!” I should not promote that because I make health foods! LOL! But if you had that as a guiding principle then you would be well on the path to optimum health!(

Replace the empty and destructive calories with 5–7 servings of vegetables, 2–4 servings of fruits, some seeds, nuts, herbs, spices and grass fed meat or wild caught fish.
