From A Fire Fighter

People are losing their lives, and we are experiencing unprecedented environmental, social and economic destruction as a result of bad politics. It is entirely within your power to put an end to this abhorrent situation. Instead, Australians are being told that fires are uncontrollable in extreme weather, and there’s nothing we can possibly do.

However, Aborigines arrived about 65,000 years ago and established the world’s most durable culture. They maintained healthy and safe landscapes across Australia through 40,000 years of sometimes extreme climate change. They didn’t need boots, overalls, hard hats, smoke goggles, fire engines, waterbombers, computers, incident controllers or emergency services.

The current weather and wildfire situation is neither unprecedented nor unexpected. This latest holocaust is a direct consequence of unprecedented accumulation of 3D continuous fuels as a result of green influence on politics. For example, in December 1792, with temperatures in the mid-40s and howling north westerly gales, settlers were able to control fires around Sydney and Parramatta with green branches, losing only one hut and a few gardens and fences in Sydney, and a hut, outbuildings and a stack of wheatsheaves at Parramatta. Under the same weather conditions in January 1994, four human lives were lost with hundreds of houses, when 800,000 hectares burnt in NSW despite the efforts of thousands of firefighters with fire engines and waterbombers.

It’s all about fuel, not climate. Half a century ago, Athol Hodgson, who later became Chief Fire Officer of Victoria, explained the simple physics:

“Doubling the available fuel usually doubles the rate of spread of the fire and increases its intensity fourfold. Control is made extremely difficult by mass short-distance spotting from stringybark fuel and spectacular long-distance spotting from candlebark fuels. Control burning over large areas … cheaply and effectively reduces the incidence of high intensity wildfires and minimizes damage”.

In autumn 1968, Phil Cheney of CSIRO carried out NSW’s second only aerial burn in rough country northwest of Bega. It saved the town and surrounding farms from extensive wildfires during horrific conditions in the following spring/summer, when 14 people were killed, hundreds of homes were lost and more than a million hectares were burnt. Fifty years later, the Yankee’s Gap fire started in this by now long unburnt wilderness during winter. NSW Rural Fire Service worked on it for a month with ground crews and water bombing, then evacuated when bad weather was predicted. Property and stock were lost on the first day of severe weather in spring.

After our National Capital was incinerated in 2003 and our “Nation Charred”, the House of Reps Inquiry received evidence from experienced land managers right across Australia, and rediscovered the simple solution. However, the land management and emergency services bureaucracies in some eastern states boycotted the Inquiry, and the Green member put in a dissenting report. This set the scene for the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) Inquiry whereby the emergency services bureaucrats and junk scientists swept traditional knowledge, history, common-sense and pragmatic science under the table. They put ‘education’, disaster warnings and evacuations in place of sensible management. This paved the way for ongoing disasters and ever-increasing funding of their bailiwicks.

The High Court’s Mabo decision should have set the scene for responsible land management in Australia. Instead, you (our elected representatives) pay lip service to Aboriginal elders past and present, whilst effectively denying their monumental work, across geological epochs, to maintain healthy and safe landscapes. Wherever you look today, in our once great and beautiful country, you will see either dying eucalypts and booming scrub or dying trees and flaming scrub. How many more people and animals have to die or suffer? How many more Inquiries and Royal Commissions do we need, to wake up to what Aboriginal people learnt 60,000 years ago, European explorers learnt two centuries ago and foresters relearnt 50 years ago?

Instead of wasting billions of dollars on ineffective waterbombers, silly computer models and hugely expensive emergency bureaucracies which are rewarded with increased funding after every disaster, we need only spend a minuscule fraction on reinstating frequent mild fire and safe and healthy landscapes.

After Bone Marrow Transplant, Recipient’s Semen Contains Only Donor’s DNA

Sperm

Chris Long is an IT worker in the Washoe County Sheriff’s Department in Reno, Nevada. But all the DNA in his semen belongs to a German man he’s never met.

That’s because Long received a bone marrow transplant from the European stranger four years ago — and the unexpected impact it has had on his biology could affect the future of forensic science.

New Study Confirms Chemotherapy Encourages Spread Of Cancer

Chemotherapy

New research carried out by an international team of scientists has further confirmed that chemotherapy encourages the spread of cancer. Published in the Nature Cell Biology journal, the study looks at two commonly used chemotherapy drugs, paclitaxel and doxorubicin, and examines how breast cancer cells respond to them. Confirming what other studies have reported for years now, the researchers found that use of this extremely toxic class of drugs can trigger the onset of new tumors in other parts of the body.

The study describes how use of the two chemotherapy drugs in breast cancer results in specific proteins being produced. These circulate in the blood and, upon reaching the lungs, cause the release of further proteins and immune cells that can facilitate the development of metastatic cancer cells. Through its continued sale and promotion of toxic chemotherapy drugs for cancer, the pharmaceutical industry is thus ensuring that, far from eradicating the disease, it continues to exist. Small wonder, therefore, that the size of the global oncology market is expected to reach an eye-watering $200 billion annually by the year 2022.

Antibiotics linked to Parkinson’s disease

Gut Brain Connection

Higher exposure to commonly used oral antibiotics is linked to an increased risk of Parkinson’s disease, according to a study which suggests the neurodegenerative disorder may be tied to the loss of beneficial gut bacteria, as reported by The Week.

The report detailed a study which showed that the use of certain antibiotics can upset the balance of your gut microbiome and, as a result, predispose people to Parkinson’s disease.

On Being A Doctor

On Being A Doctor

If you’re curious about how people become addicted and homeless, read this short, tragic report from a doctor in Kentucky. Since opioids began to be heavily (and criminally) marketed in the 1990s, there may be millions of stories like this. Purdue executives responsible for launching this trend of heavy marketing without regard for the consequences will one day have to answer for their crimes.

Harvard Professor Says Prescription Drugs Are Killing Population

Arnold_Seymour_Relman

A Harvard Professor has claimed that prescription drugs are not only ineffective at treating most illnesses, but are actually killing the population.

Arnold Seymour Relman, professor of Medicine at Harvard University and former Editor-in-Chief of the New England Medical Journal says:

“The medical profession is being bought by the pharmaceutical industry, not only in terms of practice of medicine, but also in terms of teaching and research. The academic institutions of this country are allowing themselves to be the paid agents of the pharmaceutical industry. I think it’s disgraceful.”

Trueactivist.com reports:

The pharmaceutical industry is the most prevalent medicine industry worldwide, as it is hypothesized that the medicines provided by it quickly gives respite from ailments and treats a person, despite of the fact that thousands of people die every year from prescription drug use.

According to a new study, almost 80 percent of meta–analyses had some sort of industry tie-up, either through sponsorship or speaking fees, research grants and things like that, which again leads to the fact that drugs may help someone by giving some sort of relief or lowering pain, but they can also cause a large amount of harm.

These drugs can instantly relieve acute pain and distress. But the treatment of chronic diseases poses a grave problem. Thus, in relieving a diseased condition, other abnormal physiological and pathological problems may develop. The side effects from these drugs can range from mild side effects like fatigue and constipation, to strong side effects like suicidal thoughts, insomnia, coma, severe infection and so on.

“Any drug causing more side effects than benefits will not be called a medicine. It would rather be called a poison.”

Here, we are talking about antidepressants. Dr. Peter Gotzsche, co-founder of Cochrane Collaboration (the world’s foremost body in assessing medical evidence), is currently working to make the world aware of the fact that the side effects associated with the several pharmaceutical grade drugs are actually killing people all over the world. According to his research, 100,000 people in the United States alone die each year from the side effects of correctly-used prescription drugs. He published many papers reasoning the fact that antidepressants are making people suffer with its harmful effects to a large extent.

Scientists Test Three Solutions for Cleaning Pesticides Off Produce: The Winner is Clear, Chemical-Free and Surprisingly Cheap

Baking Soda Wash

The study, published in October 2017 in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry by a team of six researchers, looked at three main possible solutions for cleaning produce: pure water, a solution of bleach containing chlorine, and a solution made of water and baking soda.

Organic Gala apples that were coated with the fungicide thiabendazole, or phosmet, a pesticide, by the scientists for research purposes, were used for the study. They were then washed with one of the three solutions.

“We want(ed) to see whether or not the factory level (of washing) is already effective” for removing the chemicals, lead researcher Dr. Lili He said.

In the end, the winner was clear: baking soda took home the number one spot, because of its ability to make the pesticides degrade faster than the other two solutions.

According to the University of Wisconsin, sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) has been listed in the U.S. pharmacopoeia since 1848 as an effective natural healing and cleaning substance because it is 99% pure, and has natural chemical and physical properties that make it safe and effective for at least five major household uses.

A recipe of 1 tablespoon baking soda and 1.5 liters of water mixed into a bowl and then applied on produce is sufficient for removing harsh, toxic chemicals on your produce, whether organic or non-organic; far superior to just water or a bleach solution.

In order to take advantage of the benefits according to the study, you should soak your Gala apples in baking soda for at least eight minutes, as these had “significantly reduced pesticide residue on the surface” according to the researchers.

At 12-15 minutes of soaking, there were “virtually no pesticides left,” the same result as the two aforementioned vegetables, avocados and sweet corn.

While buying organic is still better because of the way it preserves and supports the soil while also delivering higher amounts of disease-fighting antioxdants and higher mineral content, if you do end up buying conventional, you may want to pick up some baking soda as well.

Man dies of rare infection after he was licked by his dog

Dog Lick

Don’t let your dog or cat lick your face or wounds.
A 63-year-old man from Germany has died because of a rare infection traced back to a lick from his dog.

In a paper published by the European Journals of Case Reports in Internal Medicine, doctors are now warning pet-owners to seek urgent medical advice if they’re experiencing severe flu-like symptoms.

“Pet owners with flu-like symptoms should urgently seek medical advice when their symptoms exceed those of a simple viral infection, which in this case were severe dyspnoea (shortness of breath) and petechiae (a small red or purple spot caused by bleeding into the skin),” writes the report’s lead author Naomi Mader.

The disease contracted by the man, who was admitted to Red Cross Hospital in Bremen, Germany, was due to the bacterium capnocytophaga canimorsus. It’s found most commonly in the mouths of cats and dogs, and is transmitted to humans in rare cases, usually through an animal bite.

Glyphosate Linked To Aggressive Breast Cancer, Alarming Generational Changes In Offspring

Two new studies add to the body of science, showing glyphosate— a key ingredient in Bayer AG-Monsanto’s herbicide Roundup—is harmful to living systems. The studies point to convincing evidence the chemical can alter DNA by actively working at the epigenetic level.

These alarming studies strongly suggest glyphosate is affecting human chemistry at the genetic level to turn on negative, disease-causing traits – even into future generations. These study results indicate glyphosate progressively weakens the genome of living systems exposed to the chemical. It increases susceptibility to health problems and increased infertility.

These discoveries come from a collaboration of scientists from Purdue University and the Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale (INSERM)/Institut de Cancérologie de L’Ouest (ICO) in Nantes, France. Together, they found glyphosate can lead to mammary cancer when combined with another risk factor. Their work was published in Frontiers in Genetics and shows that glyphosate primes mammary cells for tumor growth by reprogramming epigenomes.

“This is a major result and nobody has ever shown this before,” says Sophie Lelièvre, a professor of cancer pharmacology at Purdue’s College of Veterinary Medicine. “Showing that glyphosate can trigger tumor growth, when combined with another frequently observed risk, is an important missing link when it comes to determining what causes cancer.”

What other frequently observed risks propelled breast cancer growth?

It is assumed that only 5–10% of cancers are directly caused by inherited genetic abnormalities. The remaining 90% of cancers are linked to environmental factors that directly or indirectly affect DNA.
