Merlin On Learning

“The best thing for being sad,” replied Merlin, beginning to puff and blow, “is to learn something. That’s the only thing that never fails. You may grow old and trembling in your anatomies, you may lie awake at night listening to the disorder of your veins, you may miss your only love, you may see the world about you devastated by evil lunatics, or know your honour trampled in the sewers of baser minds. There is only one thing for it then — to learn.
Learn why the world wags and what wags it. That is the only thing which the mind can never exhaust, never alienate, never be tortured by, never fear or distrust, and never dream of regretting. Learning is the only thing for you. Look what a lot of things there are to learn.” – T.H. White, The Once and Future King

What Will The Future Bring?

What Will The Future Bring?

While the meme gives you a great summary, here is some more of the story, as I see it.

While there are external factors that influence our lives, we are substantially responsible for what we think, what we accept into our deliberations and on what we put our attention.

If you know your basic purpose in life and think of ways to align your activities with your basic purpose, producing products that are needed and wanted by others then you are far more likely to have a happy, productive, satisfying and successful life.

This I wish for you!

Who To Trust?

Who To Trust?

I apply this in choosing to whom I listen. Most representatives and members of large organisations got that way because they ‘toed the party line’ rather than exercising their personal integrity.
