I swear every primary school library has 3 million Isaac Asimov books. Why are certain authors prevalent but it’s harder to find say, Proust, Joyce, Ursula Le Guin, or even Camus in libraries? Is it somehow related to copyright laws?
Let me tell you a secret.
From the 1950s when he was forced out of his teaching job until his death in 1992, Isaac Asimov, without fail, met with his publisher (he used the same one for all his fiction and non-fiction works) on the same day every single week without fail.
The purpose of these meetings was to discuss book sales and publishing runs. During his lifetime, Asimov dominated the authoritative work in publishing “Books in Print” that was published every year showing which works were still in print runs and could be ordered directly from the publisher. No library or book store was without it. During his lifetime, almost all of his 500 books could be ordered directly from his publisher and it was only after his death that they cut back the number of his titles that were available.
Asimov, who was not fond of travelling, was still constantly on the go to promote his own works, both fiction and non-fiction.
So, say you’re a librarian looking to add some titles. Call up Asimov’s publisher and they will give you a great deal on the complete set of his works. In addition to filling up your fiction section, Asimov wrote works that could be included in 9 of the 10 major Dewey Decimal classifications.
But back in the day, similarly, Asimov had so many titles he would dominate the Sci-Fi section of most bookstores.

The Democrat politicians with their “green new deal” want to brainwash us and shut down those 15 plants in order to “save” the planet.
I had a rough idea about the number of coal plants but had not yet seen actual numbers until now.
This makes the point. Whatever the USA does or doesn’t do won’t make a Tinker’s Damn regarding CO2 unless the rest of the world, especially China and India reduce their coal-fired power plants as well.
The whole “global warming” and “climate change” gambits by Democrats are to create a supposedly sound, scientific basis to justify a federal government power-grab and the passage of MORE laws to increase taxes and increase control of the privately-owned power industry and its distribution.
Never forget the main motivation they have!

Angels Walk Among Us
“A beautiful miracle happen to me today. Sitting in Pimpama McDonald’s carpark waiting for an appointment a gentleman who I later found out was named Tony approached my car window. He asked if I knew about the state of my tyres. I explained that I knew I needed new ones but at the moment simply couldn’t afford it. He asked me if I would follow him to Bridgestone Pimpama across the road to see what they could do for me. This complete stranger, Tony explained he couldn’t live with himself if he walked away from the situation knowing they were about to blow at anytime. Tony didn’t expect anything in return but asked me that one day when I’m in the position where I’m able to help someone I pay it forward. $535 dollars, a lot of tears on my behalf, a few hugs, three brand new tyres, a wheel alignment later and the offer to fuel up my car he left. No last name, no contact number, Just Tony the gentle giant with his two beautiful sons teaching them a life lesson.

Samir And Muhammad
This photo was taken in Damascus in 1899. The dwarf is Samir. He is a Christian and cannot walk. The one who carries him on his back is Muhammad. He is a Muslim and he is blind.
Mohamed relies on Samir to tell him where to go, and Samir uses his friend’s back to navigate the city streets. They were both orphans and lived in the same room.
Samir was a hakawati, he had the gift of narration and told stories of a thousand and one nights to the customers of a cafe in Damascus, Mohamed sold bolbolas in front of the same cafe and liked to listen to his friend’s stories.
One day, when he retired to his room, Muhammad found his companion dead. He wept and mourned his friend for seven days straight. When asked how they got along so well, being of different religions, he said only this:
“Here we were the same”, pointing with his hand to his heart.

IQ Alone Is Not Enough
According to psychologists, there are four types of Intelligence:
1) Intelligence Quotient (IQ)
2) Emotional Quotient (EQ)
3) Social Quotient (SQ)
4) Adversity Quotient (AQ)
1. Intelligence Quotient (IQ)
This is the measure of your level of comprehension. You need IQ to solve math’s, memorize things, and recall lessons.
2. Emotional Quotient (EQ)
This is the measure of your ability to maintain peace with others, keep to time, be responsible, be honest, respect boundaries, be humble, genuine and considerate.
3. Social Quotient (SQ)
This is the measure of your ability to build a network of friends and maintain it over a long period of time.
People that have higher EQ and SQ tend to go further in life than those with a high IQ but low EQ and SQ. Most schools capitalize on improving IQ levels while EQ and SQ are played down.
A man of high IQ can end up being employed by a man of high EQ and SQ even though he has an average IQ.
Your EQ represents your Character, while your SQ represents your Charisma. Give in to habits that will improve these three Qs, especially your EQ and SQ.
Now there is a 4th one, a new paradigm:
4. The Adversity Quotient (AQ)
The measure of your ability to go through a rough patch in life, and come out of it without losing your mind.
When faced with troubles, AQ determines who will give up, who will abandon their family, and who will consider suicide.
Parents please expose your children to other areas of life than just Academics. They should adore manual labour (never use work as a form of punishment), Sports and Arts.
Develop their IQ, as well as their EQ, SQ and AQ. They should become multifaceted human beings able to do things independently of their parents.
Finally, do not prepare the road for your children. Prepare your children for the road.

How many people do not know of apply the basics of financial management?
6. Integrity, Ethics and Discipline
How many people can be coerced or blackmailed into doing something against their better judgement?
7. Situational Awareness
How many people fell for the lies over the last three years because their awareness level was not adequate to smell the inconsistencies or their data collection was too limited to give them pause to consider the illogics?)
