In chatting to many people I have been able to help them identify their basic purpose. It has always been a specialization of the desire to help.
I think the problem is that we are not taught to look for it, to recognize and pursue it. In many cases we are dissuaded from it – “You can’t make enough money doing that!”

While there are external factors that influence our lives, we are substantially responsible for what we think, what we accept into our deliberations and on what we put our attention.
If you know your basic purpose in life and think of ways to align your activities with your basic purpose, producing products that are needed and wanted by others then you are far more likely to have a happy, productive, satisfying and successful life.
