How to keep your brain sharp for a lifetime

Brain_Cogs

This article has some good tips but also contains some false datums. The brain is active LONG before a baby is born and does not store your memories – you do!. It does not have the physical capacity to store a 52 perceptic image every 30th of a second for as long as you live! The brain is little more than a mechanical switchboard between you, the being, and your body. But, like every piece of equipment, it does need to be properly maintained otherwise it does go to hell in a handbasket, as anyone who has had to cope with a dementia sufferer can reasily attest. So here are some tips on how to “grease the cogs”.

Why a low-sodium diet might wreck your health

Different-Kinds-Of-Salts

Is salt really bad for your blood pressure? James DiNicolantonio, Pharm.D., answers this and many other questions relating to salt in his book, “The Salt Fix: Why the Experts Got It All Wrong — and How Eating More Might Save Your Life.” DiNicolantonio is a doctor of pharmacy, and it was during his work as a community pharmacist that his interest in this culinary staple emerged.

“[P]atients … were put on this low-salt diet and were having all these symptoms like muscle fatigue, muscle spasms, cramps and heart palpitations. They said their doctors ordered them to not add salt to their food because they have high blood pressure. Yet they were suffering from all these new symptoms … symptoms of salt deficiency.

What I ended up doing is kind of pushing back and telling my patients, ‘You know, you really need to go to your doctor’s office. Tell them these symptoms that you’re having, and get your blood-sodium levels drawn because you might be deficient in salt.’

Sure enough, these people were severely dehydrated. They had low sodium levels in the blood. Within a few days of just upping their salt intake, all of these symptoms went away. Right there, I knew that this low salt advice was just not panning out in the real world.”

In some cases, the patients’ sodium levels were so low their doctors actually ended up reducing or eliminating their prescription for diuretics, which are commonly prescribed for high blood pressure and instructed them to start adding salt back to their food. This is an important lesson because, while it’s actually hard to consume harmful amounts of sodium, it’s easy to end up with too little. These real-world experiences prompted DiNicolantonio to write his book, in which he also provides a historical perspective about the use of salt.

CIA’s secret communication network was cracked

CIA_Cracked_Using_Google_Search

Probably the biggest failure of US intelligence since 9/11 has been the compromise of the CIA’s communication network, which it had used to keep in touch with agents and assets in foreign nations. The Chinese busted and executed dozens of US spies because of it. A new exposé by Yahoo News says a similar upheaval happened in Iran and that the Iranians managed to defeat the system relatively easily – because it was never intended for the purpose it was used for. The CIA could have prevented the blunder had it listened to a defense contractor named John Reidy, who’d warned about the vulnerability of the system years before the Iranians mastered it. Reidy’s job was to identify, contact and manage human resources for the CIA in Iran. His complaint, however, was not heeded, while Reidy himself was punished by his superiors for the embarrassment he caused, or at least that’s what he believes. “This is one of the most catastrophic intelligence failures since September 11th,” Irvin McCullough, a national security analyst with the Government Accountability Project, told Yahoo News; “And the CIA punished the person who brought the problem to light.”

Restore Your Gut Health

Restore Your Gut Health

WOW! This presentation is simply mind boggling in terms of the ramifications and answers it opens up in all sorts of areas! Why some have great difficulty with weight loss, the destructive effects of modern farming practices, why ceasarian births are so bad for the newborn’s microbiome and how too minimise the harm of a ceasarian birth, how destructive vaccinations and antibiotics truly are… ..,and also how prevalent. Apparently their administration has levelled in the last 12 years but in the US in 2012 there were 833 prescriptions per 1,000 people!

Having listened to the whole video I could not recommend it more highly.

Science has now proven that the statement from Hippocrates, “all disease begins in the gut” is entirely accurate. Not only does 70% or more of our immune system reside in the gut, it is host to billions of bacteria that have wireless commuication with the mitochondria which are the engines in each of our cells.

The gut lining is so large, if spread out it would cover an area the size of two tennis courts. But it is only one cell thick. Less than a hair or piece of cellophone. And eating certain foods destroys the “velcro” like adhesion between these cells leading to what some call “leaky gut”, thereby precipitating an onslaught of pathogens into our body.

So much so that apparently 50% of couples are now having difficulty conceiving! The doctor says we are close to one generation from extinction as a species.

Apparently 30-50% of the patients he switched to a healthy diet DID NOT IMPROVE! He investigated and found that the soil has been denuded of vital nutrients.

Some key takeaways:
eat more (home) fermented foods
walk more in the forest
get into the garden

Vaccines Kill – It Is Official

Vaccines Kill - It Is Official

Researchers found the higher the number of vaccines, the greater the infant mortality rate. This from a National Institute of Health published survey:

“The infant mortality rate (IMR) is one of the most important indicators of the socio-economic well-being and public health conditions of a country. The US childhood immunization schedule specifies 26 vaccine doses for infants aged less than 1 year—the most in the world—yet 33 nations have lower IMRs. …the immunization schedules of these 34 nations were examined and a correlation… …was found between IMRs and the number of vaccine doses routinely given to infants. Nations were also grouped into five different vaccine dose ranges: 12–14, 15–17, 18–20, 21–23, and 24–26. The mean IMRs of all nations within each group were then calculated. …analysis of unweighted mean IMRs showed a high statistically significant correlation between increasing number of vaccine doses and increasing infant mortality rates… …statistically significant differences in mean IMRs were found between nations giving 12–14 vaccine doses and those giving 21–23, and 24–26 doses. A closer inspection of correlations between vaccine doses, biochemical or synergistic toxicity, and IMRs is essential.”

“…there is some evidence that a subset of infants may be more susceptible to SIDS shortly after being vaccinated. For example, Torch found that two-thirds of babies who had died from SIDS had been vaccinated against DPT (diphtheria–pertussis–tetanus toxoid) prior to death. Of these, 6.5% died within 12 hours of vaccination; 13% within 24 hours; 26% within 3 days; and 37%, 61%, and 70% within 1, 2, and 3 weeks, respectively. Torch also found that unvaccinated babies who died of SIDS did so most often in the fall or winter while vaccinated babies died most often at 2 and 4 months—the same ages when initial doses of DPT were given to infants. He concluded that DPT “may be a generally unrecognized major cause of sudden infant and early childhood death, and that the risks of immunization may outweigh its potential benefits. A need for re-evaluation and possible modification of current vaccination procedures is indicated by this study.”
