Two short sentences

These two short sentences tell you a lot about our governments and our culture:
1. We are advised to NOT judge ALL Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but we are encouraged to judge ALL gun owners and bikers by the actions of a few lunatics. Funny how that works.
2. Seems we constantly hear about how the Australian Old Age Pension Plan could run out of money. How come we never hear about welfare and illegal immigration support running out of money? What’s interesting is that the first group “worked for” their money, but the second group didn’t.

Uncovering Your Genius

“Every block of stone has a statue inside it and it is the task of the sculptor to discover it.” Michaelangelo
He also said, “The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark.”
And lastly, “Genius is eternal patience.”
So, let’s take the idea of a statue and apply it as a metaphor (a figure of speech in which a word or phrase is applied to an object or action to which it is not literally applicable) to your goal in life.
So, my question to you today is, “What’s YOUR Statue?”
On what are you patiently investing your “genius” to create?
Is it a goal high enough to inspire and bring out the best in you?
Are you leaping out of bed with enthusiasm each morning to create it?
Are you having to drag yourself away from it to go to bed?
If that is not how you feel, is unearthing your “statue” not one of the most important things you can invest your time?
