Why do pilots say, “Roger”? What does Roger mean in aviation?

Roger is a current radiotelephony ‘proword’ which is a word used to represent a longer phrase.

Roger means, very specifically: “Your message has been received and understood.”

Wilco means: “Your message has been received and understood and I will comply.”

Affirm (note, NOT affirmative) simply means, “Yes,” but is clearer over the radio.

Negative means, “No.”

Over means, “I’ve finished speaking and expect a reply.”

Out means, “I’ve finished speaking and do NOT expect a reply.”

Roger Wilco over and out means, “I am not a pilot.”

(Tom: And just in case you would like to know the origin, I looked it up:

“Received” was abbreviated to “R” for Morse code use then for walkie talkie use extended to “Roger” which was to designate “R” per the US WWII phonetic alphabet.

During WWII, the phonetic alphabet was: Able, Baker, Charlie, Dog, Easy, Fox, George, How, Item, Jig, King, Love, Mike, Nan, Oboe, Peter, Queen, Roger, Sugar, Tare, Uncle, Victor, William, X-ray, Yoke, Zebra.

It is now Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Echo, Foxtrot, Golf, Hotel, India, Juliet, Kilo, Lima, Mike, November, Oscar, Papa, Quebec, Romeo, Sierra, Tango, Uniform, Victor, Whiskey, X-Ray, Yankee, Zulu.

Preventing and Treating Cancer

Dr. Paul Marik

Dr. Paul Marik is to critical care medicine what Dr. Peter McCullough is to cardio-renal medicine. The 65-year-old native of South Africa has published over 500 peer-reviewed papers and books on intensive care medicine, and his “Marik Cocktail” for treating sepsis is used in emergency rooms all over the world.

Like Dr. McCullough, he fell afoul of the Bio-Pharmaceutical Complex during the COVID-19 pandemic for his insistence on TREATING his patients instead of doing nothing for them apart from poisoning them with Remdesivir and ultimately consigning them to death on a ventilator.

His testimony before the January 24, 2022 Senate hearing (sponsored by Senator Ron Johnson R-Wisconsin) was one of the most heartbreaking stories I’ve ever heard.

Also like Dr. McCullough, Dr. Marik is an enormously curious man with a boundless capacity for inquiry and study. After he came to the startling conclusion that the official pandemic response really was driven almost entirely by commercial motives (instead of taking care of patients) he wondered if there were other elements of conventional medical care that were equally corrupt.

A couple of years ago he embarked on an intense study of cancer—the nature of the disease, its complex causes, and how to treat it. To his surprise, he discovered that simple lifestyle and dietary habits can significantly reduce the risk of cancer. He also learned that deficiencies in natural compounds such as Vitamin D significantly increase the risk of cancer.

Yesterday I read his recently published pamphlet THE ROLE OF REPURPOSED DRUGS AND METABOLIC INTERVENTIONS IN TREATING CANCERwhich I found so fascinating and inspiring that it prompted me to call him and request an interview.
