Early exposure to BPA has the same bad effects as early mercury exposure
When testing the chemical found in many common plastics, researcher Daniel Weber noticed it had the same effects as mercury. Specifically, early exposure to the stuff caused problems both right after birth and later in life. “What was amazing is that exposure only happened at the embryonic stage,” says Weber, “but somehow the wiring in the brain had been permanently altered by it. Cree Prophecy

The sad truth is that too many people are this criminally short sighted.
Those who aren’t that short sighted (that’s you and me) need to do more to revert the current catastrophic trend.
I am listening to some great lectures at present. One datum from yesterday’s listening is that a being’s troubles stem from his perceived inability to be cause. Every bad situatioin that comes to our attention over which we perceive that we cannot be cause reduces our morale.
Conversely, if we can do something that increases our perceived level of cause, our morale improves. Want to feel good? Take effective action to change a condition for the better!
Here are some suggestions.
1. Support those who are doing something about it. You and I might not have all the answers or the best answers or even an answer for every problem. But someone does. When you see someone doing something constructive, support them. If you have money and they need it, flow to their cause. If you have time and they need it, contribute some hours. If they are spreading a message with which you agree, click on the ‘Like’ button and forward it on your comm lines.
2. Communicate your viewpoint. You have a sane, pro-survival viewpoint. Many people don’t. The more sane people communicate sane solutions, the stronger the tidal wave of truth becomes to swamp the sea of lies. It emboldens others to speak your truth as they perceive it as agreement. This is how reality is communicated. You communicate your truth, others perceive it as true and pass it on and, by agreement, it becomes reality. And we need a better reality at present!
One way you can do this is by wearing t-shirts that forward a message you wish to communicate. At present I am wearing one that has on the front,
“PSYCHIATRISTS
ARE HERE.
HIDE YOUR
CHILDREN!”
It is rare that I wear it without receiving a positive feedback.
3. Stop contributing your money (energy) to those who are doing harm. Take your purchasing dollars and buy organic or grower’s market food (fruit and veggies) rather than highly refined and processed food. If everyone did just this one thing it would revolutionise their health and a lot of society.
4. Support local, small businesses with whom you can communicate rather than large, faceless corporations whose directors are responsible only for profitability and not for sustainability.
5. If you have shares in companies, register your opinions to the directors at shareholder’s meetings.
6. Make your viewpoint known to your local politician on matters of interest to you.
If you have a problem for which you have no solution, call me. I love sharing the wisdom I have learned from others wiser than me.

A comprehensive study conducted by researchers from California State University (CSU) in Chico, and the University of California (UC), Davis, that was published in Nutrition Journal in 2010 is just one of many that shows the major differences between grain-fed, feedlot meat and grass-fed, pastured meat.
In this study, researchers evaluated the way feeding cattle grass, which is their natural food of choice, compares to feeding them grains, which is not their natural food of choice and is often responsible for making them sick. They found that in virtually every nutritional category evaluated, grass-fed meat was far superior to grain-fed meat.
The omega-3 fatty acid profile in grass-fed meat, for instance, was found to be similar to that of fatty fish, which is often recommended by health officials as a type of meat that promotes health. Grass-fed animals were also found to produce meat that is higher in conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), a healthy fat that fights obesity; carotenoids, organic antioxidant pigments that protect cells from cancer-causing free radicals and promote healthy immunity and reproductive function; and vitamin E tocopherols, which protect against cardiovascular disease and cancer.
“Research spanning three decades supports the argument that grass-fed beef has a more desirable SFA (saturated fatty acids) lipid profile as compared to grain-fed beef,” write the authors in their conclusion. “This results in a better n-6:n-3 (omega-6 to omega-3) ratio that is preferred by the nutritional community”

Scientists Seek EPA Action on Monsanto Crop Failure
Twenty-two leading scientists, experts in pest resistance, have written an urgent letter to the EPA asking the agency to warn farmers about the hazards of Monsanto’s genetically engineered Bt corn, planted on millions of acres across the U.S. and Canada.
The corn has been gene-spliced with bacterial DNA that produces Bt insecticide in every cell of the plant. Monsanto’s misleading promise was that farmers could plant Bt crops and not have to spray pesticides, but predictably, corn rootworms have begun to develop resistance. Scientists warn of massive yield loss and surging corn costs if the EPA doesn’t act quickly to drastically reduce Bt crops’ acreage and force Monsanto to make non-GMO varieties of its high-yielding hybrid corn available to farmers.
Now’s our chance to ask the EPA to ban Bt crops! Let’s urge the EPA to look at the danger to human health, as well as farming. Monsanto’s insecticide-producing bacterial DNA survives digestion and is now found in the blood of more than 80% of North American women – and their fetuses! Scientists say the exposure comes from a typical (non-organic) diet, primarily through the consumption of animals fed GMO crops. The chronic health impacts of exposure to GMO Bt genes is unknown, but Monsanto’s own study of rats fed Bt crops showed liver and kidney damage.
