If you say to yourself that there are no cars on a busy road and you step out believing the lie you have told yourself then the most likely short term result is a funeral – yours. If you correctly observe cars on the road, their speed, the breaks in the traffic and your walking speed, you are far more likely to survive to the other side of the road.
Obviously road traffic is an extreme example and most other facets of life are not immedately obvious as totheir life or death choices. They nevertheless do impact. I sometimes pass a homeless person and wonder what were the key decisions they made that led to their being out on the street, surviving at a much lower quality than you or I.
