New Study Confirms Chemotherapy Encourages Spread Of Cancer

Chemotherapy

New research carried out by an international team of scientists has further confirmed that chemotherapy encourages the spread of cancer. Published in the Nature Cell Biology journal, the study looks at two commonly used chemotherapy drugs, paclitaxel and doxorubicin, and examines how breast cancer cells respond to them. Confirming what other studies have reported for years now, the researchers found that use of this extremely toxic class of drugs can trigger the onset of new tumors in other parts of the body.

The study describes how use of the two chemotherapy drugs in breast cancer results in specific proteins being produced. These circulate in the blood and, upon reaching the lungs, cause the release of further proteins and immune cells that can facilitate the development of metastatic cancer cells. Through its continued sale and promotion of toxic chemotherapy drugs for cancer, the pharmaceutical industry is thus ensuring that, far from eradicating the disease, it continues to exist. Small wonder, therefore, that the size of the global oncology market is expected to reach an eye-watering $200 billion annually by the year 2022.

Antibiotics linked to Parkinson’s disease

Gut Brain Connection

Higher exposure to commonly used oral antibiotics is linked to an increased risk of Parkinson’s disease, according to a study which suggests the neurodegenerative disorder may be tied to the loss of beneficial gut bacteria, as reported by The Week.

The report detailed a study which showed that the use of certain antibiotics can upset the balance of your gut microbiome and, as a result, predispose people to Parkinson’s disease.

On Being A Doctor

On Being A Doctor

If you’re curious about how people become addicted and homeless, read this short, tragic report from a doctor in Kentucky. Since opioids began to be heavily (and criminally) marketed in the 1990s, there may be millions of stories like this. Purdue executives responsible for launching this trend of heavy marketing without regard for the consequences will one day have to answer for their crimes.

Harvard Professor Says Prescription Drugs Are Killing Population

Arnold_Seymour_Relman

A Harvard Professor has claimed that prescription drugs are not only ineffective at treating most illnesses, but are actually killing the population.

Arnold Seymour Relman, professor of Medicine at Harvard University and former Editor-in-Chief of the New England Medical Journal says:

“The medical profession is being bought by the pharmaceutical industry, not only in terms of practice of medicine, but also in terms of teaching and research. The academic institutions of this country are allowing themselves to be the paid agents of the pharmaceutical industry. I think it’s disgraceful.”

Trueactivist.com reports:

The pharmaceutical industry is the most prevalent medicine industry worldwide, as it is hypothesized that the medicines provided by it quickly gives respite from ailments and treats a person, despite of the fact that thousands of people die every year from prescription drug use.

According to a new study, almost 80 percent of meta–analyses had some sort of industry tie-up, either through sponsorship or speaking fees, research grants and things like that, which again leads to the fact that drugs may help someone by giving some sort of relief or lowering pain, but they can also cause a large amount of harm.

These drugs can instantly relieve acute pain and distress. But the treatment of chronic diseases poses a grave problem. Thus, in relieving a diseased condition, other abnormal physiological and pathological problems may develop. The side effects from these drugs can range from mild side effects like fatigue and constipation, to strong side effects like suicidal thoughts, insomnia, coma, severe infection and so on.

“Any drug causing more side effects than benefits will not be called a medicine. It would rather be called a poison.”

Here, we are talking about antidepressants. Dr. Peter Gotzsche, co-founder of Cochrane Collaboration (the world’s foremost body in assessing medical evidence), is currently working to make the world aware of the fact that the side effects associated with the several pharmaceutical grade drugs are actually killing people all over the world. According to his research, 100,000 people in the United States alone die each year from the side effects of correctly-used prescription drugs. He published many papers reasoning the fact that antidepressants are making people suffer with its harmful effects to a large extent.

Scientists Test Three Solutions for Cleaning Pesticides Off Produce: The Winner is Clear, Chemical-Free and Surprisingly Cheap

Baking Soda Wash

The study, published in October 2017 in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry by a team of six researchers, looked at three main possible solutions for cleaning produce: pure water, a solution of bleach containing chlorine, and a solution made of water and baking soda.

Organic Gala apples that were coated with the fungicide thiabendazole, or phosmet, a pesticide, by the scientists for research purposes, were used for the study. They were then washed with one of the three solutions.

“We want(ed) to see whether or not the factory level (of washing) is already effective” for removing the chemicals, lead researcher Dr. Lili He said.

In the end, the winner was clear: baking soda took home the number one spot, because of its ability to make the pesticides degrade faster than the other two solutions.

According to the University of Wisconsin, sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) has been listed in the U.S. pharmacopoeia since 1848 as an effective natural healing and cleaning substance because it is 99% pure, and has natural chemical and physical properties that make it safe and effective for at least five major household uses.

A recipe of 1 tablespoon baking soda and 1.5 liters of water mixed into a bowl and then applied on produce is sufficient for removing harsh, toxic chemicals on your produce, whether organic or non-organic; far superior to just water or a bleach solution.

In order to take advantage of the benefits according to the study, you should soak your Gala apples in baking soda for at least eight minutes, as these had “significantly reduced pesticide residue on the surface” according to the researchers.

At 12-15 minutes of soaking, there were “virtually no pesticides left,” the same result as the two aforementioned vegetables, avocados and sweet corn.

While buying organic is still better because of the way it preserves and supports the soil while also delivering higher amounts of disease-fighting antioxdants and higher mineral content, if you do end up buying conventional, you may want to pick up some baking soda as well.

Man dies of rare infection after he was licked by his dog

Dog Lick

Don’t let your dog or cat lick your face or wounds.
A 63-year-old man from Germany has died because of a rare infection traced back to a lick from his dog.

In a paper published by the European Journals of Case Reports in Internal Medicine, doctors are now warning pet-owners to seek urgent medical advice if they’re experiencing severe flu-like symptoms.

“Pet owners with flu-like symptoms should urgently seek medical advice when their symptoms exceed those of a simple viral infection, which in this case were severe dyspnoea and petechiae,” writes the report’s lead author Naomi Mader.

The disease contracted by the man, who was admitted to Red Cross Hospital in Bremen, Germany, was due to the bacterium capnocytophaga canimorsus. It’s found most commonly in the mouths of cats and dogs, and is transmitted to humans in rare cases, usually through an animal bite.

How to prevent business email compromise attacks

How-to-prevent-business-email-compromise-attacks.png

Business email compromise (BEC) scams are low-tech attacks that use social engineering techniques to exploit natural human tendencies.

While they may not get as much attention from the press as high-profile ransomware attacks, BEC scams are considered one of the biggest threats facing companies today. Between June 2016 and July 2019, there were 32,367 successful BEC scams in the U.S., which cost U.S. businesses more than $3.5 billion, according to figures from the FBI.

Fortunately, there are some very effective and easy-to-implement strategies for stopping BEC attacks. In this post, we’ll show you how you can combine staff training, process implementation and authentication technology to protect your organization from BEC attacks.
