“There is a theory…” by Douglas Adams

Still brings a smile to my dial, hope it does to yours too!

“There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened.” -Douglas Adams

Vitamin D and Hospital Admission in Older Adults: A Prospective Association

Vitamin D Hospital Stay

Low levels of vitamin D linked to increased hospital visit and length of stay, not to mention the risk of Covid.

The health effects of vitamin D are well documented, with increasing evidence of its roles beyond bone health.

This study showed an inverse association between vitamin D and Emergency department (ED) attendance

Those admitted had lower mean vitamin D concentrations (58.4 vs. 69.3 nmol/L, p < 0.001).

Higher vitamin D was inversely associated with hospital admission and length of stay (LOS).

The study also showed independent prospective associations between vitamin D deficiency and increased hospitalisation by older adults

Bio-Individual Blueprint by Brendan Moorehead

Bio-Individual Blueprint

(Tom: I received this email and thought it sounded like an interesting and potentially very workable approach to improving health.)

In recent years, scientific research has begun to reveal how bio-individuality can influence which foods may help or harm an individual; whether a person is more likely to thrive on a mostly plant-based diet or the opposite; whether a ketogenic diet is likely to work or not work for an individual; which detoxification pathways need more support in one person versus another, and even which gut bacteria are likely to thrive in one person versus another.

The Bio-Individual Blueprint system helps people implement the emerging science of bio-individuality to customize nutrition, lifestyle, and other factors to overcome common roadblocks to optimal energy, gut health, detoxification, hormones, healing capacity, body composition, and mood.

Dysbiosis, the Liver, and the Brain

Arguably the most common cause of liver congestion and poor detoxification is gut dysbiosis (imbalance in the species of the intestinal microbiome).

Gut dysbiosis interferes with liver health and detoxification via two main mechanisms:

Dysbiosis often result in higher bacterial production of beta glucoronidase, an enzyme that removes the glucuronic acid that the liver attached to a toxin in phase II of the detoxification process. Once the glucuonic acid has been removed, the toxin is more easily re-absorbed from the gut into the body via entero-hepatic (re)circulation, sending the toxin right back to the liver.
Dysbiosis often results in increased production of a type of highly inflammatory bacterial endotoxin referred to as lipopollysaccharide (LSP) while also increasing the permeability of the intestinal lining, thereby allowing more LPS into the body. LPS causes inflammation in the liver that inhibits phase II detoxification and the transport of bile salts and conjugated toxins (from phase II) into the bile duct system for excretion.

This big one-two punch knocks out both detoxification and digestion, setting up the body to develop even worse dysbiosis.

This is because bile is basically a “detergent”, and when bile flow is reduced, the small intestine doesn’t get cleansed of food residues and microbes that are not supposed to inhabit the small intestine at high levels.

Low bile flow therefore contributes to the development of small intestine bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) and/or small intestinal fungal overgrowth (SIFO).

And when phase II detoxification is impaired, not only does the body accumulate toxins like heavy metals, pesticides, and mold toxins, but it also can’t get rid of hormone metabolites like the “bad” versions of estrogen, leading to estrogen dominance, which increases the risk of cancer in both men and women.

And as toxins and bile salts back up in the liver they also back up into the blood, causing inflammation and dysfuction in all parts of the body, especially the most vulnerable and reactive parts like the endothelials cells of the circulatory system (think heart disease), the brain (think Azheimer’s Disease), and immune cells (think autoimmune disease, cancer, and vulnerability to infection by viruses, parasites, and other pathogens).

So this combination of dysbiosis, LPS, inflammation, and impaired detoxification is one of the main drivers of most disease processes and early stage symptoms like food sensitiivities, fatigue, brain fog, anxiety, and depression.

The challenge is that reversing dysbiosis generally involves more than changing the diet, taking probiotics, and/or doing a colon cleanse.

A more complete “top-to-bottom” approach is usually required, and this is covered in the Bio-Individual Blueprint program. To learn more about the program, do any of the following:

How We Know SARS-CoV-2 Absolutely Leaked From a Chinese Lab

The chance of a person from Wuhan being patient zero is approximately 1 in 630, based on calculations that take into account the population size of Wuhan, the global population and the fact that coronavirus-carrying animals are found virtually all over the world.

Taking into account that there are 28 Alpha- and Beta-coronavirus species with members that affect humans, the chance of Wuhan hosting a SARS-related coronavirus outbreak is 17,640 to 1
To date no credible theory for natural zoonotic spillover has been presented.

Meanwhile, there are at least four distinct lab origin theories, including the serial passage theory (which proposes the virus was created by serial passaging through an animal host or cell culture). There’s also a variety of evidence for genetic manipulation.

A third theory is that SARS-CoV-2 is the result of vaccine development, and the fourth is the Mojiang miners passage theory, which proposes a precursor to SARS-CoV-2 sickened the miners, and once inside these patients, it mutated into SARS-CoV-2.

Medical Racism: The New Apartheid

Medical Racism

While many are familiar with the medical atrocities at Tuskegee and the shocking experiments performed by the father of American gynecology on enslaved South Carolina women, author and historian Curtis Cost says they are probably are not aware of the routine medical barbarism against Africans that persists today.

Cost is the co-producer of a new and timely documentary that confronts the long-standing medical experimentation on minorities. “Medical Racism: The New Apartheid” is a collaborative work by Children’s Health Defense (CHD), Centner Productions and the Urban Global Health Alliance. Directed by Academy Award-nominated filmmaker David Massey, the film chronicles the medical cartel’s history of targeting minority populations for unethical experiments, the acquiescence of regulatory agencies and medical ethicists, and the silence by physicians that allows these atrocities to continue.

“Medical Racism” examines human experimentation on Black children by pharmaceutical companies and government health officials in South Central Los Angeles. It also exposes big pharma’s medical experiments across the pond, in Africa, and the World Health Organization’s 2014 tetanus vaccine campaign that was found to contain hidden chemicals (and that subsequently sterilized a million Kenyan girls).

“The high levels of medical mistrust in the Black community is a rational response to routine callousness and systemic savagery toward Blacks by medical professionals and pharmaceutical interests,” said CHD Chairman Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. “Our hope in producing this film is to learn from the past misdeeds so we can avoid their future repetition.”

Don’t miss this timely and important documentary! “Medical Racism” will be released on March 11. You can sign up to watch at medicalracism.org. You can also learn more about how minorities have been used as human research subjects in the interview we did last fall with human rights champion Vera Sharav.

Resveratrol and EGCG Found to Stimulate New Brain Cells

egcg green tea

The phytonutrients EGCG and resveratrol have a direct and indirect effect on your central nervous system, including having proneurogenic properties and improving cognitive function.

EGCG demonstrates the ability to enhance connectivity in the brain, lower cognitive impairment and reduce beta-amyloid accumulation associated with Alzheimer’s disease.

Resveratrol, found in grapes, berries and dark chocolate, has multiple health benefits, including improving blood flow in the brain, cognitive performance, learning and memory.

Both EGCG and resveratrol play a role in supporting your immune function. Resveratrol inhibits the growth of MERS-CoV in the lab and EGCG is a zinc ionophore, important in the fight against colds, flu and COVID-19.
