I bought two organic chooks at Coles. A roasted one for $11 and a raw one for $14. I know, go figure!
We had some of the roast chicken for lunch then I cooked the raw chook to make chicken soup. Out of interest I compared the weight of the chook prior to cooking (1.8 kilos) with the net weight of the meat after I picked it clean of fat and bones and it was 676 grams – 37%.
