Feng Fu Point

Feng Fu Point
(Tom: Passing this on as received. I have no experience with it so would be interested in hearing from someone who has tried it.)
What happens when you place an ice cube beneath the base of your skull for twenty minutes?
Traditional Chinese medicine has discovered a point in our body that when stimulated promotes overall well-being. This point called Feng Fu is the pressure point located behind the head, at the base of the skull, on top of the neck.
FENG FU POINT:
According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, this method restores the body’s natural physiological balance – giving a strong injection of life, rejuvenating the whole body.
Technique of applying an ice cube on a Feng Fu point:
Choose a comfortable position lying on your stomach face down.
Apply an ice cube one to two times per day for 20 minutes.
If it better suits you, you can use a cloth or a plastic baggy to encase the cube of ice before applying on the feng fu point.
Note: After 30 seconds, you may begin to experience a slightly warm sensation.
In the first few days of utilizing this technique, you may experience feeling of slight euphoria due to the release of endorphins igniting within the Feng Fu Point.

Mise En Place

The more order you bring into your personal space, your family and work space, your community and environment, the less upset and disorder occurs from others.
Katharine Hepburn – The Simple Life

“You keep asking questions and posing situations, and I keep thinking of my father: A man whose sink had on it one big bar of durable, good soap. And that bar of soap was used for cleaning, shaving, and brushing his teeth. It worked fine; it was fast; it was economical. He could then get on with his day. I think we clutter our minds and our lives in a way people would have liked for my father to clutter his toilet. There is too much clutter and too much thinking and too much devising. I think you need to be true to your work and your friends–these should be small circles. People who have too many friends tend to have too few ideas, I find, and they cover up their disappointment with parties and chatter and movement. Focus on working well and being there for you, your work, and your friends. One bar of soap. Taught me a lot.”–Katharine Hepburn Interview with James Grissom 1990
(Tom: I think her father lived an overly complicated life. He shaved.)
