MASC – Mutually Assured Survival Club/Community

If you have a strong case of ‘Normalcy Bias’ of which Wikipedia says, “Normalcy bias, or normality bias, is a cognitive bias which leads people to disbelieve or minimize threat warnings. Consequently, individuals underestimate the likelihood of a disaster, when it might affect them, and its potential adverse effects. The normalcy bias causes many people to not adequately prepare for natural disasters, market crashes, and calamities caused by human error. About 70% of people reportedly display normalcy bias during a disaster.”

There are a great many people severely affected by the recent government response to the Covid crisis. And if you join the dots and look at what the people have been advising (WEF/Great Reset) or predicting for years, it will not get better before it gets worse. Maybe much worse. For some reality on that read How To Survive the Global Reset https://www.naturalnews.com/files/The-Global-Reset-Survival-Guide.pdf

Russia and the Ukraine, China and America, Iran and Israel, there are too many opportunities for things to go nuclear level wrong as warned here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M7hOpT0lPGI

A 1972 MIT study said 2040 was the projected end for this civilization. A 2021 study relooked at the markers and said we are ahead of schedule! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVOTPAxrrP4

If you spend any time browsing the internet you will find any number of reasons why past civilizations joined the club of failures that litter the history books. Let alone the ones we know not what of! A widespread drought such as is considered to have caused the late Bronze Age collapse about 1170 BCE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4LRHJlijVU

The earth regularly has a magnetic pole shift that causes huge turmoil: https://www.tomgrimshaw.com/tomsblog/?p=34970

A couple of years ago I read that since being able to measure people’s DNA, biologists were surprised at the lack of diversity. They compute that about 10,000 years ago something happened that caused human population on earth to be reduced to a mere 5,000 people. This fits hand in glove with what the pole shift predicters are saying.

So, culture ending emergencies have happened and are predicted to happen again. An emergency is only an emergency if it is not predicted and planned for. Well, it has been predicted, let’s plan to survive it!

During the Cold War between the USSR and the United States of America there was a theory that if both sides could destroy each other after surviving a nuclear strike from the other, then there was Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD), neither side could ‘win’ a nuclear war, then one was less likely to occur.

Let’s flip that concept 180 degrees and form a Mutually Assured Survival Club/Community (MASC) to assure the survival of a community, no matter what. A Club to start with in its planning stages then a Community when it becomes active.

Someone posted a comment on one of my social media posts that he had studied recent periods of societal breakdown (the Soviet Union, Egypt and others) and found even well prepared individuals had a far more perilous time than communities or extended families.

Before I start outlining the thoughts I have had on one way to survive a manufactured crisis, I do not for a moment say we should not be trying to avert it. By all means spend most of your time doing that but at least have a workable Plan B if you need to fall back on one. This is some off the cuff thoughts for that Plan B. Or at least one option for one.

MASC PURPOSE
————
To maximize the survival potential of each member therefore the group and civilization, in harmony with themselves, their neighbours and the environment by being prepared for as many and as great a calamity as resources permit. (Your resources and your opinion as to the likelihood and magnitude of the dangers you face will determine how much of the following you adopt.)

PHILOSOPHY
———-
No man is an island. We survive better as married couples than we do alone. Children survive better in families with a mother and a father than they do in single parent families. And we survive better as family units in communities. If you deny this then you are living with lies and people who live with lies do not survive as well as those who live with truth.

Your own survival is also enhanced by increasing the survival of your family, friends and neighbours and the environment. While desirable, it is not envisaged that MASCs would necessarily be entirely self sufficient. Hopefully there would be opportunities to trade with similar MASCs for skills and commodities for which one had a need and another had an excess. Ideally, one’s whole country would be a MASC, trading with other whole country MASCs. But now I am talking Utopia.

As 75% of us want to get along and survive but 25% of people wish to destroy, we need to aid the 75% and protect against the 25%. If people can go rabid in a supermarket over the last packet of toilet paper, it does not need much imagination to conceive what they would be like over food when starving. (Look up the history of the Khazars, a prosperous country wiped off the map by a belligerent neighbour.) If for no other reason than this, it is as well to advise and help your neighbours to also prepare to survive without having to steal from others.

CLOTHES
——-

It’s not going to be easy to pop down to the mall and pick up a new pair of jeans or shirt in a worst case scenario so keep your toenails clipped so you are not spending half your time darning holes in socks!

You’ll want to have a good supply of the sort of gear you will be wearing doing outside farm work, jeans, cotton shirts, work boots, waterproof oilskins, hats as well as the basic socks and undies.

HOW TO PREPARE
————–
Start by improving your skills in your chosen field and allied fields or one of those listed above. In addition, learn some form of martial arts as self-defence. Learn to shoot. Join a gun club or take some lessons at a firing range.

The more knowledgeable and better skilled you are the more you can contribute to your own and your community’s survival.

Here is one place to start, at least while we still have internet access: https://healthimpactnews.com/2021/bloom-where-youre-planted-prepping-to-survive-where-you-are-right-now/

From there. take it next level here: Self-Reliance Manifesto: More Than 350 Resources to Guide You on the Path to Radical Freedom https://healthimpactnews.com/2021/the-self-reliance-manifesto-more-than-350-resources-to-guide-you-on-the-path-to-radical-freedom/#

Expand your communication lines. Seek like minded people with skills and assets that match the above. Discuss how you each see things working in a survival community. Learn and pick up ideas.

Friend a farmer. This is something that almost anyone can do, no matter their present situation. Offer to help out and learn farm skills in exchange. If the farmer can pay you, well and good but the knowledge and skills will be invaluable if and when required, regardless of the pay. Ask them their thoughts on how they would handle a role in a MASC.

If you’ve a mind to, start your own MASC. Look first for people to join you who have the skills and assets listed above. Advise interested parties not so skilled to start upskilling.

Start to formulate what the policy or rules will be in your MASC. What are the justice codes, what are offenses, what penalties will apply, how to handle non-producing members, what the exchange will be for labour/production, how to reward the high producers, whether you limit the number of members, what to do if more people want to join or need assistance in the event of a disaster, how you handle those you cannot accommodate.

While you still have access to the internet, work out a farm management plan for the size land you have. How many of each type of crop and livestock it would take to feed each 10 people for a year. Compile a manual for livestock and crop farm management. For instance, here is a list of minimum areas required for different types of livestock.

Sq M Per
Animal Open Sheltered Herd/Flock Land Shelter
Horses 4046 3 12138 0
Cattle 7082 10 70820 0
Sheep 2023 20 40460 0
Pigs 125 20 2500 0
Goats 2.3225 1.39 20 46.45 27.8
Chooks 80 0.2787 50 4000 13.935
Ducks 120 0.4 10 1200 4
Llamas 1000 3.7 5 5000 18.5
Alpacas 1000 3.7 5 5000 18.5
Total 141164 sq M (14 Hectares or 39 Acres)

And that’s just for grazing. You would need to add a lot for cropping too.
Have a stock rotation plan to improve soil quality and prevent overgrazing.

LIBRARY
——-
Consider that what we have available on the internet may not always be there. What texts would you like to have printed and available as references and to tech future generations?

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT
——————-
Chain saws, electric drills, tractors and cars are desirable commodities, while you have access to electricity and petrol/diesel. What do you use when you can no longer source them?

HEATING/COOLING
—————
Similarly, how do you heat/cool accommodation and barns without electricity or fossil fuels? And if a pole shift causes the earth to stop rotating for 24 hours it will warm up greatly on the sun facing side and cool down greatly on the other side of the earth.

GROWING IN A DARK AGE
———————
If, as is predicted after a pole shift or a large volcanic eruption, the sun does not make it through the clouds for a couple of years, how do you grow crops to feed your community and your livestock?

One idea I saw was of a wood chip fired gasifier powering a car engine to provide electricity for grow lights. Seems a lot easier than ethanol and potentially longer lasting and more certain than solar panels in a dark age. Nevertheless you would be well advised to incorporate some serious livestock food storage to survive any scenario as you would be hard pressed to grow enough food indoors to feed any but the smallest livestock holdings.

MULTIPLE STORAGE LOCATIONS
————————–
Give thought to having a primary and minimally a secondary food storage area in case your primary area gets raided.

MEDICAL/VETERINARY SUPPLIES
—————————
Preantibiotics, simple infections could be deadly. Have a good first aid kit in your list of essential supplies. With antibiotic resistant super bugs also give thought to immune boosting herbs and manuka honey as essntials.

POSITION
——–
The three import rules for property are location, location and location. Even more so in a post apocalyptic world. Being handy to public transport or the local supermarket is a good thing in a civilized society, perhaps far less so in a less civilized one. Well off the beaten track is more advisable then. I figure minimally a full tank of gas, a week’s march and a rifle shot from a large town. And if a pole shift does occur and the arctic and antarctic ice sheets melt, you want to be over 500 feet above sea level.

DEFENSE
——-
Following on from that point, being in the bottom of a valley surrounded by hills might be great for growing crops but it is a very vulnerable position to attack from any quarter. High ground is more exposed to the elements but you get to see sooner who is headed your way.

LAYOUT
——
Having trees right up to the house makes you more exposed in a bushfire and provides too much cover to attackers. A partially submerged residence protects you more from high winds and fires. Ensure adequate ventilation and drainage when planning such a property.

SANITATION
———-
Septic tanks need to be emptied every few years so look at a compostible toilet instead. No such thing as soil that does not improve with good compost. And if you feed your kitchen scraps to the chooks, your compost bin might otherwise starve!
