From a health professional: “Doctors in emergency rooms across the country are seeing a rise in the bacterial infection impetigo in children who wear masks. The rash appears in a mask-like pattern. The bacteria thrives in the warm, moist environment created by wearing a mask for long periods of time. I’ve only been warning people for months about the increased risk of face infections caused by mask-wearing. If parents are taking their children to the emergency room, it has to be serious.”
