Egads! Talk about a serious missed opportunity.
Energy and sugars were already in the labeling so that leaves three new markers of which two are serious misdirectors.
Saturated fats are good for you, not bad. Trans fats are bad.
The latest research shows salt is not the villain it was made out to be.
What about listing what percentage of each of 24 key nutrients are in a product and with what other products that product should ieally be consumed to provide an appropriate percentage of all the nutrients a body needs?
Now THAT would be a seriously educational label!
