{"id":6900,"date":"2013-04-03T09:36:43","date_gmt":"2013-04-02T23:36:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tomgrimshaw.com\/tomsblog\/?p=6900"},"modified":"2013-04-03T09:36:43","modified_gmt":"2013-04-02T23:36:43","slug":"no-future-for-cyprus-with-trioka","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tomgrimshaw.com\/tomsblog\/?p=6900","title":{"rendered":"No Future For Cyprus With Trioka"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cyprus Parliament President Says \u201cNo Future\u201d Under Troika, Calls For \u201cIceland\u201d Solution<br \/>\nZero Hedge April 1, 2013<br \/>\nJust last week Yiannakis Omirou, Cypriot House of Representatives President, was calling for the nation to accept it is \u201ctime for responsibility\u201d as they progressed towards a final solution; and yet today, as Cyprus\u2019 Famagusta reports, he believes the \u2018Troika-imposed\u2019 responsibility will, \u201cturn Cyprus into a colony of the worst possible type.\u201d His \u2018Icelandic\u2019 solution is to \u201cleave the Troika and EMS behind,\u201d to ensure \u201cnational independence, national sovereignty, moral integrity, and economic independence.\u201d He may have a point; judging from the chart below of the Troika\u2019s poster-child Greece, relative to Iceland, things are not going so well.
