In 1933, owning gold in America became a crime. ??

Here’s how Roosevelt quietly robbed every saver in the country:

1 April 1933: Executive Order 6102 forces Americans to turn in their gold at $20.67 an ounce. Refuse, and you’re facing fines or prison.

2 January 1934: Once Washington has the gold, FDR reprices it to $35 with a signature.

Gold jumped 69% overnight. The dollar in your pocket lost 41% of its backing. The government pocketed roughly $2.8 billion, and the people who handed over their gold got nothing extra.

That’s the dirty secret of inflation. Whoever gets the new money first wins. Everyone holding dollars pays for it. In 1934, Washington got it first, and our great-grandparents paid.

Devaluation is taxation without a vote.

And it never stopped. Your dollar has lost more than 95% of its purchasing power since then. Same trick, slower pace.
