More than 570 were hospitalized. Two died.<\/p>\n<p>And yet FDA says there is still \u201cnot enough evidence to conclusively determine how contamination occurred.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Really?<\/p>\n<p><em>Cyclospora<\/em> is a fecal-oral parasite. Humans are its known host. It gets onto food when human feces contaminate water or soil.<\/p>\n<p>So somewhere between <strong>human feces<\/strong>, <strong>wastewater<\/strong>, <strong>a drainage ditch next to a lettuce field<\/strong>, and <strong>Cyclospora showing up in all<\/strong>, lies one of the great unsolved mysteries of modern food safety.
