{"id":66778,"date":"2026-08-06T12:55:09","date_gmt":"2026-08-06T02:55:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tomgrimshaw.com\/tomsblog\/?p=66778"},"modified":"2026-08-06T12:55:09","modified_gmt":"2026-08-06T02:55:09","slug":"biotonomy-nature-based-architecture","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tomgrimshaw.com\/tomsblog\/?p=66778","title":{"rendered":"Biotonomy &#8211; Nature Based Architecture"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"xdj266r x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">In just 25 years, one of the driest regions in Europe went from throwing its water away to reusing 98% of it.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">It started with 5 euros a month.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">Murcia is one of the driest places in Europe.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">1.6 million people live there, and almost no rain falls.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">In the year 2000 they passed a law that changed everything.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">It added a small charge to every water bill.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">For a family &#8211; about five euros a month.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">And the law said that money can only ever be spent on one thing.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Cleaning the waste water and using it again.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">Not roads. Not offices.
