Some comments on the video:<\/p>\n
Carl Sagan said it best \u201c\u201cI have a foreboding of an America in my children’s or grandchildren’s time — when the United States is a service and information economy; when nearly all the manufacturing industries have slipped away to other countries; when awesome technological powers are in the hands of a very few, and no one representing the public interest can even grasp the issues; when the people have lost the ability to set their own agendas or knowledgeably question those in authority; when, clutching our crystals and nervously consulting our horoscopes, our critical faculties in decline, unable to distinguish between what feels good and what’s true, we slide, almost without noticing, back into superstition and darkness…<\/p>\n
The dumbing down of American is most evident in the slow decay of substantive content in the enormously influential media, the 30 second sound bites (now down to 10 seconds or less), lowest common denominator programming, credulous presentations on pseudoscience and superstition, but especially a kind of celebration of ignorance\u201d<\/p>\n

After four decades and over 100,000 hours of studies, research and analysis of global political economy, history, sociology and ecology, from a multi-disciplinary systems analysis perspective, I would add this:<\/p>\n
The near term solution to the escalating polycrisis is a radical decentralization, re-localization, bioregionalism, and the rebuilding of networks and federations of freedom-based, resilient and highly self-reliant communities, and the creation of parallel systems, largely de-coupled from the increasingly authoritarian, over-centralized, fragile and collapsing global system, which can weather the coming turmoil, and survive, and thrive, while preserving human freedom, dignity and mutual aid, and creating the seed beds for a new civilization and a new renaissance.<\/p>\n
The agenda of the power elite, however, is in stark contrast to that path of freedom, mutual aid and decentralized ecological stewardship. The power elite are behaving like virtually every power elite, oligarchy or imperial ruling class of the past: they seek to consolidate, maintain, and expand their power and wealth in a time of imperial decline – freedom, humanity and the Earth be damned.<\/p>\n
Their agenda has become clear: it is the construction of a globalist, transnational, neo-feudal, techno-fascist police state; combined with the re-introduction of mass slavery, to use slave power to solve the growing energy crisis, combined with depopulation, using human beings as biofuel.<\/p>\n

The analysis is stark, but the conclusions are inescapable. The ruling class will use whatever means are at their disposal, in order to preserve their power and their wealth. We must build networks, parallel systems and community now, or simply be devoured by the increasingly desperate transnational oligarchy and ruling empire, which is now in the early stages of collapse.<\/p>\n
