Every day.<br \/>\nThe power bill never stops.<br \/>\nAnd if the power goes out, the building gets too hot to use.<br \/>\nThere is a better way.<br \/>\nA building can cool itself.<br \/>\nNo AC. Just air, water, plants, and the sun.<br \/>\nHere is how it works:<br \/>\n&#8211; Windcatcher: a tower on top. It catches the wind and sends cool air down.<br \/>\n&#8211; Solar chimney: the sun heats it. It pulls hot air up and out.<br \/>\n&#8211; Earth tubes: air comes in through the cool ground first. So it starts cool.<br \/>\n&#8211; Cool water channel: the air passes over water. Now it&#8217;s even cooler.<br \/>\n&#8211; Green roof and green walls: plants shade the building and cool the air.<br \/>\nCool air comes in at the bottom.<br \/>\nHot air goes out the top.<br \/>\nNo machine in the middle.<br \/>\nThis is not new.<br \/>\nPeople in old Persia did this 700 years ago.<br \/>\nThey made desert homes much cooler. With no power at all.<br \/>\nWhat is new? Smart sensors and AI.<br \/>\nThey watch the wind and the heat.<br \/>\nThey open and close each part on their own.<br \/>\nOld ideas.
