It\u2019s confirmed science.<\/p>\n<p>One pan scratch = 9,100 particles.<br \/>\nOne old pan = 2.3 million+ particles in a single use.<\/p>\n<p>See the problem?<\/p>\n<p>If your cookware is coated in aging nonstick film (most likely PTFE, aka Teflon), then Thanksgiving isn\u2019t just about turkey anymore.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s about how many plastic particles you\u2019re accidentally serving.<\/p>\n<p>Microplastics are not just a gut issue. (Leslie et al., 2022, Environment International, 163).<\/p>\n<p>Another recent study linked plastic particles in artery plaques to a 4.5x higher risk of heart attacks or strokes. (New England Journal of Medicine, 2024).<\/p>\n<p>They\u2019ve been found in lungs, placentas, even in brain tissue.<\/p>\n<p>This isn\u2019t fringe science anymore.
