It\u2019s devoid of any critical thinking or historical background. Media types create \u201cfactoids\u201d\u2014an idiotic CNN-created neologism that most people think means something like \u201ca fun little fact\u201d. It doesn\u2019t. A \u201cfactoid\u201d relates to a \u201cfact\u201d the way an \u201candroid\u201d does to a human, or an \u201casteroid\u201d does to a star\u2014deceptively similar, but quite different. The subtle manipulation of words is the best way to lie to intelligent people. Sorry for the tangent\u2026 but I mostly listen to the news not to find out what\u2019s supposedly happening, but to see what other people are supposed to be thinking.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
