I was standing in a queue when I heard the cashier shouting at an old lady. She was crying. I stepped out of line, walked up to her, and asked gently, \u201cWhy are you crying?\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The cashier snapped at me, \u201cMind your own business. She can\u2019t pay for her bread and eggs. She\u2019s begging me to give them for free, and I told her to leave.\u201d Everyone else in line just gave her disgusted looks.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

I couldn\u2019t bear it. I paid for her groceries and offered to walk her home. She smiled softly and said, \u201cI only live two blocks away.\u201d After finishing my shopping, I made her sit in my car and dropped her home. Before getting out, she hesitated and asked, \u201cSon, could you help me carry these groceries inside?\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

At first, I felt a little annoyed, thinking maybe she was asking for too much. But when I stepped into her house, two small children \u2014 maybe 5 and 3 years old \u2014 came running to her. Surprised, I asked, \u201cWhere are their parents?\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

With teary eyes she replied, \u201cThey died in a car accident. These little ones have no one but me. We haven\u2019t eaten since last night. I told them I\u2019d get food somehow, but I didn\u2019t have any money. I just prayed, knowing God would send us an angel.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

At that moment, I broke down. I realized I hadn\u2019t just helped with groceries \u2014 I had walked straight into the lives of a struggling grandmother and two hungry children. That day, I cooked them a proper breakfast with my own hands. Since then, I visit them every week with groceries. And because I\u2019m a chef, I regularly invite them to my restaurant to eat with me.<\/div>\n
