For those who may have missed it, last week the American College of Pediatricians (ACPeds) delivered a scathing denunciation of America\u2019s leading medical institutions – calling on them to halt the drastic gender transition protocols being imposed on vulnerable children.<\/p>\n
A newly formed coalition of healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, behavioral health clinicians, and scientists launched the \u201cDoctors Protecting Children Declaration<\/a><\/strong>\u201d led by Dr. Jill Simons, Executive Director of the American College of Pediatricians. They are sounding the alarm and criticizing the severe physical and mental health risks associated with \u201cgender-affirming\u201d care.<\/p>\n A recently published 20-year landmark NIH study\u00a0\u2018Risk of Suicide and Self-Harm Following Gender-Affirmation Surgery\u2019\u00a0<\/a>found that suicide risk increases after gender reassignment surgery. This study dismantles a popular argument wielded by those who fiercely advocate for these radical \u2018life saving\u2019 treatments on minors. Parents have been emotionally blackmailed into supporting such procedures – being told that their child is likely to commit suicide if not allowed to \u2018transition\u2019 as a minor. In fact, the data proves the opposite is true. Individuals who underwent gender-affirming surgery had a\u00a012.12-fold higher suicide attempt risk\u00a0<\/strong>than those who did not, and the study concluded that gender-affirming surgery is significantly associated with elevated suicide attempt risks.<\/p>\n
