Does the Medical Council have power to suspend a medical practitioner indefinitely? It can only do so when it neglects to exercise the power of s145D(1) which provides practitioners with rights under the national law.<\/p>\n

Following the Medical Council’s failure to refer my case, I have been in limbo for over two years without the chance for a fair hearing on the underlying issues. Rather than receiving a proper hearing, I am being prosecuted by the director of proceedings to have my license cancelled based solely on medical records unlawfully obtained by the HCCC.<\/p>\n

The absence of legal rights and due process in my situation raises troubling questions about the system at play. Is Australia veering towards resembling a place like North Korea?<\/p>\n
