Powerful.. Joshua Dyer (aged 14) was tasked at school to write a poem for Remembrance Day. An hour later (without any help) he produced this..<\/p>\n
One thousand men are walking
\nWalking side by side
\nSinging songs from home
\nThe spirit as their guide
\nThey walk toward the light milord,
\nthey walk towards the sun
\nthey smoke and laugh and smile together
\nno foes to outrun.<\/p>\n
These men live on forever
\nin the hearts of those they saved
\na nation truly grateful
\nfor the path of peace they paved.<\/p>\n
They march as friends and comrades
\nbut they do not march for war
\nstep closer to salvation
\na tranquil steady corps
\nthe meadows lit with golden beams
\na beacon for the brave
\nthe emerald grass untrampled
\na reward for what they gave.<\/p>\n
They dream of those they left behind
\nand know they dream of them
\nforever in those poppy fields
\nthere walks one thousand men.<\/p>\n
