Not trying to make excuses for those who do not try because I preach from the same prayer book as you, BUT… …we need to be realistic about time management or we are just setting people up for losses.<\/p>\n
1. 8 and 8 make 16, not 14, so you only have 8 remaining hours, not 10.
\n2. As Clarissa points out, you have commute time (say 2 hours but many do a lot more than that), ablutions (say 30 minutes), meal prep, shopping and housekeeping (say 90 minutes)…<\/p>\n
…and just there you have halved your available 8 hours. That’s without walking a dog, talking to your spouse (try staying married without doing THAT!), exercising and heaven forbid you have offspring who need time and attention too, a chat with a friend or relative, time on social media, reading a book etc.<\/p>\n
Perhaps this is why the famous line, “Most people grossly over estimate what they can get done in a day and under estimate what they can get done in 5 years.”<\/p>\n
Nevertheless most people do spend more time planning their annual holiday than they do planning their life.<\/p>\n
If we did spend a bit more time deciding what skills and abilities we would like to have in 5 years then looked at where we could squeeze some time for them into our schedule I am sure a lot more of us would be a lot happier. Let alone more broadly skilled and competent.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
