This can be found on the website titled, \u201cPreferred Terms for Select Population Groups &amp; Communities.\u201d It is clear that this list is being read and distributed broadly &#8211; from medical institutions, hospitals, scientific communications, doctor\u2019s offices, schools and universities, as well as other US Government agencies and institutes.<\/p>\n<p>According to the CDC, we are no longer to use the word \u201csmoker,\u201d as it might offend those who smoke.<\/p>\n<p>Yet, here are images from the CDC website &#8211; using the word \u201csmoker\u201d. In fact, they even have a registered trademark for the phase: Tips From Former Smokers&amp;reg;<\/p>\n<p>So, please folks &#8211; don\u2019t do like the CDC.
