I wrote the following this morning then tonight this meme arrived. A perfect match!<\/p>\n

I am coming to the viewpoint that it is best to provide data as clearly as possible with no attempt to “prove” it or “convince” a person or worse, enforce the data on another, as their acceptance of a datum is more dependent on their awareness level than on our ability to persuade.<\/p>\n

This does not absolve one from the responsibility to ensure the datum is true and as clearly as possibly presented at the level of the receiver’s comprehension. And often times to repeat our message as we have all experienced first hand having our own realization the umpteenth time we read or heard something.<\/p>\n

Of course this is not good news to those of us who have a vested interest in other people making the correct decision. So it behooves us to keep aspiring to perfection in application of the Two Rules For Happy Living I came across some time back:<\/p>\n
