Christa, a career nurse and mother of three, was until recently a healthy 49-year-old who ran up to 30 miles a week, with no pain and taking no medications.<\/p>\n
\u201cI woke up every morning with the excitement of taking on the new day,\u201d the Newbury Park resident says.<\/p>\n
For 25 years, she worked primarily in long-term care settings with elderly people, and raised her kids in local public and private schools. More recently, she served in hospice, home health and long-term care environments.<\/p>\n
\u201cI really loved hospice care,\u201d she says. \u201cIt was lovely. \u2026 The thing that excites me is having that nurse\u2019s role and advocating for patients and families.\u201d<\/p>\n
But last year, when Christa received her second Pfizer shot, her health spiraled out of control.<\/p>\n
\u201c[My doctor] knew it was the vaccine and said, \u2018Hopefully it\u2019ll go away,\u2019\u201d she says. \u201cIt never went away.\u201d<\/p>\n
Instead, Christa plunged into a nightmare of symptoms and health problems her doctors could not explain and which robbed her of her active lifestyle \u2014 and her job.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am fighting every day to live in gratitude and be positive amidst the suffering,\u201d she says. \u201cYou don\u2019t know how devastating this has been. I\u2019m a caged bird. It\u2019s really sad.<\/p>\n
\u2026 This is not just about losing your health. It\u2019s your livelihood and everything. I want [people] to know what I lost to this vaccine \u2014 the travesty, the devastation, the s*** show, living a nightmare. These are all things happening to me now.\u201d<\/p>\n
