My 2011 Year End Poem For YOU My Friend!
\nBe The Best You Can Be
\nPlease you be the very, best you can be,
\nAnything less? Gross disservice to thee!
\nAll insects, animals, even each tree,
\nAre trying to be, the best they can be.
\nSeems to me strange, given smarter are we,
\nNot to try to be, the best we can be.
\nAnd this poem’s not written, just for thee,
\nI am also writing, pointing at me.
\nIt must be something else, other than me,
\nBlunts my urge to be, as good as can be.
\nI should find out who, who really is me,
\nSo I can say, “I’m the best I can be.”
\nSo whenever the urge, comes over me,
\nTo be any less, than the best that’s me,
\nI can ask myself, “Who am I? Who’s me?”
\n“Who is it who is, the best I can be?”
\nAsk yourself that often, and you will be,
\nThe top best of all, the best you can be.
