{"id":13506,"date":"2016-07-11T23:10:03","date_gmt":"2016-07-11T13:10:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tomgrimshaw.com\/tomsblog\/?p=13506"},"modified":"2024-07-03T02:12:36","modified_gmt":"2024-07-02T16:12:36","slug":"turkey-mince","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tomgrimshaw.com\/tomsblog\/?p=13506","title":{"rendered":"Turkey Mince"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/tomgrimshaw.com\/tomsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/TurkeyMince.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-13507\" src=\"http:\/\/tomgrimshaw.com\/tomsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/TurkeyMince-300x168.jpg\" alt=\"Turkey Mince\" width=\"771\" height=\"432\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nIf you are looking for an economical and fast way to either feed a crowd or make dinner and also have a fortnight&#8217;s worth of lunches to pack in the freezer, this is an ideal recipe for you.<br \/>\n1 kilo of Turkey mince<br \/>\n2 large Onions<br \/>\n2 heads of Garlic<br \/>\n1 can of Water Chestnuts<br \/>\n1 can of creamed Sweet Corn<br \/>\n1 can of Coconut Milk<br \/>\n10 shakes of the Salt shaker<br \/>\n10 shakes of the Papper shaker<br \/>\n1 dessert spoon of Turmeric<br \/>\n1 dessert spoon of Nigella<br \/>\n1\/2 a teaspoon of Cumin<br \/>\n2 handfuls of Pine Nuts<br \/>\n2 handfuls of Cranberries<br \/>\n1 Capsicum<br \/>\n2 Tomatoes<br \/>\n6 large button Mushrooms.<br \/>\n3 Carrots<br \/>\n1 head of Broccoli<br \/>\n1\/2 a head of Cauliflower<br \/>\n1 medium Sweet Potato<br \/>\n2 cups of Pumpkin<br \/>\n1\/2 a Leek<br \/>\n1\/4 of a Fennel.<br \/>\n1-2 tablespoons of Coconut Oil<br \/>\n1 cup of Brown Rice.<br \/>\nRinse the rice and put into a 1 litre saucepan with 2 cups of water, cover and simmer till the water is gone. (20 minutes.)<br \/>\nInto a frypan, put the coconut oil and start the gas under it. Medium heat.<br \/>\nDice the two onions and add them to the pan.<br \/>\nChop the fennel and add it to the onion.<br \/>\nMince or finely chop the garlic and add it to the pan.<br \/>\nSlice the mushrooms and add to the mix.<br \/>\nInto a large frypan put the kilo of turky mince on medium heat.<br \/>\nTurn it from time to time as you are chopping the veggies.<br \/>\nInto a 3 litre saucepan put 2 inches of water and bring to boil.<br \/>\nChop the carrots and add them to the water.<br \/>\nChop the other vegetables and add them to the carrots.<br \/>\nAdd the water chestnuts to the mince.<br \/>\nWhen the mince is no longer pink, pour half the coconut milk on top of the mince.<br \/>\nTo the other half of the coconut milk add the spices and stir.
