{"id":12963,"date":"2016-03-23T20:37:37","date_gmt":"2016-03-23T10:37:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tomgrimshaw.com\/tomsblog\/?p=12963"},"modified":"2022-03-25T07:31:40","modified_gmt":"2022-03-24T20:31:40","slug":"be-careful-what-you-wish-for","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tomgrimshaw.com\/tomsblog\/?p=12963","title":{"rendered":"Be Careful What You Wish For!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/tomgrimshaw.com\/tomsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Emu.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-12964\" src=\"http:\/\/tomgrimshaw.com\/tomsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Emu-300x226.jpg\" alt=\"Emu\" width=\"572\" height=\"431\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nAn Aussie truckie walks into an outback cafe with a full-grown emu behind him.<br \/>\nThe waitress asks them for their orders.<br \/>\nThe truckie says, &#8220;A hamburger, chips and a coke,&#8221; and turns to the emu, &#8220;What&#8217;s yours?&#8221;<br \/>\n&#8220;Sounds great, I&#8217;ll have the same,&#8221; says the emu.\u2019<br \/>\nA short time later the waitress returns with the order. &#8220;That will be $9.40 please,&#8221; and he reaches into his pocket and pulls out the exact change and pays.<br \/>\nThe next day, the man and the emu come again and he says, &#8220;A hamburger, chips and a coke.&#8221;<br \/>\nThe emu says, &#8220;Sounds great, I&#8217;ll have the same.&#8221;<br \/>\nAgain the truckie reaches into his pocket and pays with exact change.<br \/>\nThis becomes routine until the two enter again. &#8220;The usual?&#8221; asks the waitress.<br \/>\n&#8220;No, it&#8217;s Friday night, so I&#8217;ll have a steak, baked potato and a salad,&#8221; says the man..`<br \/>\n&#8220;Same for me,&#8221; says the emu.<br \/>\nShortly the waitress brings the order and says, &#8220;That will be $32.62.&#8221;<br \/>\nOnce again the man pulls the exact change out of his pocket and places it on the table.<br \/>\nThe waitress cannot hold back her curiosity any longer. &#8220;Excuse me mate, how do you manage to always pull the exact change from your pocket every time?&#8221;<br \/>\n\u201cWell, love\u201d says the truckie, \u201cA few years ago, I was cleaning out the back shed, and found an old lamp. When I cleaned it, a Genie appeared and offered me two wishes. My first wish was that if I ever had to pay for anything, I would just put my hand in my pocket and the right amount of money would always be there.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cThat&#8217;s brilliant!\u201d says the waitress. \u201cMost people would ask for a million dollars or something, but you&#8217;ll always be as rich as you want, for as long as you live!\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cThat&#8217;s right. Whether it&#8217;s a gallon of milk or a Rolls Royce, the exact money is always there.\u201d says the man.<br \/>\nStill curious the waitress asks, \u201cWhat&#8217;s with the bloody emu?\u201d<br \/>\nThe truckie pauses, sighs and answers, \u201cMy second wish was for a tall bird with a big arse and long legs, who agrees with everything I say.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An Aussie truckie walks into an outback cafe with a full-grown emu behind him.
