No Fracking Under My Home

No Fracking Under My Home
In the UK, the ASA just banned a Greenpeace anti-fracking ad!
Here are the facts:
A few months ago we published a newspaper ad stating: “Experts agree – [fracking] won’t cut our energy bills.”
The ASA asked for evidence to back up the claim — so we submitted statements from 22 experts and commentators including leading academics, the energy secretary Ed Davey, and even quotes from fracking firm Cuadrilla.
This wasn’t enough for the ASA and they still said the ad was misleading. But the only evidence they could provide to back that up?… A quote from the prime minister.
Oh and one other thing… the chair of the ASA, Lord Chris Smith, happens to be the head of the Task Force on Shale Gas (a group funded by the fracking industry).
Totally unbiased, eh?

HIV Vaccine Researcher Gets 57 Months in Prison for Fraud

Dr Han
Dr Han was sentenced to 57 months in prison for systematically falsifying data for several years to make an experimental HIV vaccine look effective when, in fact, it was not. His attorney argued that his crime did not necessarily warrant time behind bars, but the Department of Justice (DOJ) countered that a prison sentence would warn others that “the manipulation of data to receive grant funds is unacceptable, and if caught, they will be punished.”

Petition to Senate Inquiry into No Jab, No Pay

Tasha David wrote me:
Hello
Over the last few months a group of delegates including myself have been lobbying in Canberra for a senate enquiry into the No Jab No Pay legislation.
We are very pleased to tell you that we have now succeeded!
I feel proud to be have been part of this team, who I am very pleased to call dear friends.
We achieved something that is long overdue in Australia
We had open and frank discussions with politicians about vaccination and the effects that this bill would have on the people of Australia. And some of the politicians listened!
What needs to be done next?
We need as many people as possible to make submissions to the Senate Committee Inquiry (we will provide more information and templates over the next week)
If you are not a member of AVN, please join to strengthen our voice.

Reduced Symptoms of Inattention after Dietary Omega-3 Fatty Acid Supplementation in Boys with and without Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder

Dr Peter Dingle writes:
Omega 3 oils help kids with and without ADHD.
Omega 3 fatty acids have been associated with so many benefits for both kids and adults it is hard to believe that not everyone is supplementing daily with them.
Attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common child psychiatric disorders, and is often treated with stimulant medication. Nonpharmacological treatments include dietary supplementation with omega-3 fatty acids vitamins and minerals.
In this study, they investigated the effects of dietary omega-3 fatty acid supplementation on ADHD symptoms and cognitive control in young boys with and without ADHD.
A total of 40 boys with ADHD, aged 8–14 years, and 39 matched, typically developing controls participated in a 16-week double-blind randomized placebo-controlled trial. Kids consumed either 650 mg of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA)/docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) each or placebo.
This study shows that dietary supplementation with omega-3 fatty acids reduces symptoms of ADHD, both for individuals with ADHD and typically developing children.
Supplementing with omega 3 fatty acids is a must for kids of all ages. This is so much more sensible than relying on pharmaceutical drugs once the kids have problems
