More than six months before the COVID pandemic swept out of China, Dr. Anthony Fauci sat down for an interview on the David Rubenstein Show. During this May 22, 2019 interview Rubenstein discussed with Dr. Fauci infectious diseases, vaccines, and measures people can take to prevent getting sick.
Rubenstein, asking Fauci what was the best way to prevent getting an infectious disease, asked him if people should be wearing a mask.
A chuckling Fauci answered, “No, no, no!”
Fauci told Rubenstein that people should “avoid all the paranoid aspects” and instead do something positive – namely, staying healthy. He suggested a healthy diet, not smoking, not drinking to excess, getting exercise, and a good night’s sleep.
