I have a few friends looking at different social media sites for different reasons. This morning I received this from one I am on, Wimkin.
PARLER HACK RESULTS IN DOZENS OF USER’S ARRESTS:
Did you know Parler and Gab were hacked? Don’t worry if you didn’t. Most people don’t. Sadly, nor do most people know that this led to several people’s arrests for their perceived roles at the Capitol on 1/6/21. If you don’t believe us, simply Google or DuckDuckGo “80tb Parler.” You’ll be astounded and most likely frightened of the results.
Parler was hacked back in January where some 80 terabytes of user metadata was “scraped” by a single female hacker. This is because of Parler’s atrocious security. This hacker was able to scrape metadata and GPS locations and provided such to the Federal Government which led to dozens of arrests of any user’s that their stolen GPS locations showed them within the Capitol confines. Furthermore, anyone that submitted a live video this day from their homes had their home address GPS coordinates leaked. This is internet security 101 – One, do not have GPS location on your platform, and Two, if you do have such, you delete the metadata after the posts are deleted or removed. Parler failed its users in epic fashion. On top of this, where did all of the ID photos and user information go? Our bet is to AWS (Amazon Web Services), Parler’s then server company. After all, fired CEO and founder John Matze IS an ex-AWS employee.
Parler is and always has been flat out deceitful. Parler has billionaire and millionaire backers yet they did not, and do not have their own datacenter. Why on earth would this company require a front and back scan of your government or state ID along with a selfie just to do something as basic as send a private message on their service? Their citizen verification process was a complete joke that millions fell for and that may have cost them terribly.
GAB HACKED, CEO’s CORPORATE EMAIL USED TO REGISTER TRUMP ACCOUNT:
You may or may not be on Gab. What you probably do not know is that earlier this year, Andrew Torba confirmed that his platform users’ data was breached significantly, as well as that the Trump account on his platform is a non-verified account that he sends “mirrored” messages from to his users. If you do not believe us, simply do some internet research. According to Torba himself, over 70 GB of user data was stolen in the hack due to bad security.
PARLER SELLS OUT TO BIG TECH:
One of Parler’s taglines and marketing / sales pitches is: “Help Dan Fight Big Tech Tyranny.” This is in reference to minority owner and spokesperson, Dan Bongino. While Wimkin has great admiration to Dan for his service to his country on every level, including his time at the NYPD, this is a flat out lie.
Parler was first to be banned from the app stores due to “obscene and offensive content and failure to moderate posts that incite violence.” Wimkin was second to be banned a short few days after for the same. This difference between Wimkin and Parler is that Wimkin flat out refused to submit to app store demands while Parler kowtowed to the biggest of Big Tech. Wimkin refuses to moderate and censor anything but pornography and criminal intent or activity.
While Wimkin has suffered very large DDOS attacks by the left in the past due to overwhelming interest and app downloads, those only shut down the site periodically due to our firewall having to use max resources. No user data was ever compromised and DDOS attacks since, have always failed due to major increases in security. We are safe and we will not bow to Big Tech.
In mid to late January, Wimkin was removed from the app stores due to a total of 8 posts. Those individuals who caused us to be banned are BACK on the platform as we vow to protect our users. As always, Wimkin only censors pornography and criminal intent. Below are a few things you can do on Wimkin that you cannot do elsewhere:
