An electronic petition has been organised calling for an Australian federal government inquiry into the use of psychotropic drugs and those who prescribe them in the aged care sector, mental health system, criminal justice system and disability sectors. |
With more than 37 million
prescriptions written last year for psychotropic drugs in Australia, 67
psychiatric drug warnings issued by the Australian Government including
to warn of the risk of heart problems, increased blood pressure,
agitation, suicidal ideation and death, it is long past the time there
was a comprehensive investigation into these drugs. CCHR sincerely
thanks the person who organised this petition to help prevent the harm
these drugs can cause.
