There is much we need to change to improve this society, this view being one of them! Children need to be loved as themselves and protected from this attitude.
I was thinking further on this and wanted to say you can trace every bad condition in this society, this included, back to the destructive influence of psychiatry, so we should counter it where ever we can.
In 1947 the then president of the world federation of mental health, one Brock Chisholm, said that the goal of psychiatry was the eradication of the concepts of right and wrong, good and evil. And you can trace the decline in the education and justice systems as well as societal morals and individual ethics to their evil hand in this endeavour. Let alone the damage wreaked upon individuals luckless enough to fall directly into their hands and receive electroshock therapy or a chemical lobotomy.
